Anyone like soaking oats better than boiling?
    #27761867 - 05/03/22 07:27 PM (2 years, 8 months ago)

I switched from WBS to oats, was boiling them (bods tek,) but feel like I somehow got too many burst grains and such. I was thinking soaking them, and then hitting them with boiling water before drying them… Any suggestions?

Also, any drying suggestions? I’ve always sucked at this part, been using my pressure cooker and a colander….

Just soaking works great with oats.

I prep mine by soaking only. Soak them for 16-24hrs. Then let them drip dry in a colander over night and load into jars or let them
drip dry for 5 min add a table spoons of fine verm per jar, stir and load. The verm is not even really needed but I think it helps
especially
when you are going to inoculate with liquids. Shake when they come out of the PC and the moisture will all get sucked up after 2 days or so.

No burst oats, even the ones without hull are still intact.

Drying oats (grain in general) is APITA
