store mycelium to force pins later

New shroomer, PF Tek jars going nicely. Can I store them aware until I am ready  to start growing? How do you do that? I will be gone for about 6 days when I expect my jars to bursting with mycelium. -dd

I'm a little confused by the question, but if you mean that you have already inoculated them and you want them to continue to colonize while you are away then as long as the jars aren't 90%-100% colonized then you should be fine leaving them for 6 days.

Or if you are talking about consolidation (which is after full colonization) then I would only leave them for about 24-48 hours.

Also, I think this question belongs in Mushroom Cultivation.

Yeah. This should  be in cultivation.. more people will probably  see it there..

6 days is a very short period of time in this hobby... as long as you haven't birthed the jars yet, they'll be fine... at most, you'll come back to a few invitro pins, but it's doubtful after only 6 days.. it's pretty common practice to let cakes consolidate for a whole week after they're 100% colonized.

:goodluck:
