Mushroom compost
    #27760956 - 05/03/22 05:53 AM (2 years, 8 months ago)

After years of dumping my spent tubs in one location , ive noticed the grass and plants in that area are really growing good.

So ive been collecting spent contam free subs into a large black tote to try and compost a little faster, going to try and supplement out door cannibis plants with this next year.

I have some old multi vitamins i crushed up and mixed in along with a ton of fan leafs and trim waste.

Does anyone have experience doing simular things? Am i wasting my time?

I used to compost all of my spent oyster subs but that was primarily straw.

Currently all of my cubes and other edibles all get composted together.
In my opinion adding straw or some cellulose based bedding material would benefit the mix as the coir just becomes light and airy regardless of the composting level.

Throw some worms in the mix. Red wigglers. They'll help break everything down.

Ill grab some worms once the weather warms up a bit more.

So this is a sealed tote with a semi tight lid. Should i drill some holes in it?

I have a bunch of older powder fertilizer i thought about adding to the mix also.
