Aborts from high humidity %
    #2776040 - 06/08/04 11:02 PM (14 years, 16 days ago)

A casing has about 40 aborts on it due to xtreme humidity during fruiting cycle... What can i do???

Shall i pick them all and wait for flush 2? Will it be as good as flush No.1 was supposed to be?

Thanx!

Never lower mine below 95%. Was water dripping on the shrooms?

Pick them as long as you don't need to touch the casing in the process. You can leave the small ones on without problems. I find that removing every little tiny abort is more trouble than what it is worth (meticulously removing each one can damage the casing surface and harm developing primordia, or possibly introduce contamination if your not careful). I just grab the larger ones and don't bother with the little ones. They usually get overgrown with mycelium after a few days and pose no future problems. I think your 2nd flush will be close to what the 1st should have been. Perhaps better as the mycelium has had longer to digest the substrate...

It was the dripping water.
