I have seen some chantrelle primordia and aborts popping up in the usual places in my back yard. last year they were present but in very small numbers. does anyone have any suggestions for encouraging a naturally formed "bed" to expand it's boundaries and/or fruit more generously?

Check out this site, it might help you out. If you have any success I'd be very interested in hearing about it. Bon Chance!

Debian, you should plant saplings around your patch. They will become symbiotic as well and can be moved around.

Wewt. I'm going to go have a look at my patches tomorrow. I noticed that some leaves on the forrest floor are starting to become covered in an orange fungus/mold... Something that is very common during Chanterelle season. Hopefuly I'll have some pics of Chants by tomorrow night
