I have no problem with my Tap water, but it is pretty Alkaline in the south, so it's good for me.

What kind of water comes out your tap? In my rural area, depending n where you live you might get water from a well, a creek or a spring. Others get big city treated water but whatever you use, if its drinkable, it should be ok but I always boil first.

In Iowa its usually rural water or city water, they both are treated with chlorine, floride, or whatever other bullshit the city puts in it, all the water in this state is crap, boil it once and you'll see all the shit build on your pan, your taps fill up with shit and you can blow out a pUr water filter with 3 gallons of water.
True story unless your place has some filter installed onto the main water line which isn't to uncommon here if you have money.

well the water around here aint to bad really. it comes from a underground lake. i also have a cologan (sp?) water softener if that makes any difference. oh yes and last night when i made my jars i did boil the water first just incase
