Advice on Timelapse for Agar plates, or potential collaboration

So I am going to do a short film about mushroom consciousness (I think you guys will like it).
The opening scene and closing scene would be of agar plates, shot from a birds eye view, showing the growth from the agar plate. This is a good example of what I want, except that the agar would be colored something vibrant like pink or red, and I will probably have a somewhat trippy background.

I actually don't have pure agar plates since I use the pastyplate tek. So I will be hunting down for some proper scientific plates.
I was going to do a timelapse with a Sony A6300, I'll find a way to mount it in a closed space so that the sunlight or room lights don't affect it.
For lighting it, I want to avoid glares, I will probably have a small LED panel lighting it, with a cloth in front of it so it isn't direct light.
Anyone ever do a timelapse like this with a similar setup? Any advice?
On another note, if someone wants to collaborate with me and get that footage, we can discuss, but I might as well do it all myself that way the camera stays consistent, plus, its going to be easy as far as file transfer. We can figure out credits because obviously this is still "illegal", maybe your username forever immortalized on IMDB?
Thanks in advance.

OP glass petri may have the best visibility too. Also maybe you should contact D3monic, he has the most aesthetically pleasing plates out there.

hello keeno! no, but the film idea is still there.
i think the easiest solution would actually be something like a Rasberry Pi with a USB microscope camera.
but definitely down to talk.
