Does the surface seems dry for you?
    #27743628 - 04/20/22 01:03 PM (2 years, 8 months ago)

Happy 420! Does the surface seems dry? I like it slightly above field capacity and didn't misted this tube after spawning. Used 4 fully colonized rye and wbs jars on 70l container. It has a nice breathable lid:heart: The lid and the walls have medium to high condensation levels. 5th day after spawning:

I presume you've read the thread here on 'proper surface conditions'? You have myc coming through to the top layer, I'd mist a bit if that is not showing tiny beads of water on it.

Other than that it's difficult to tell from your photos. Sometimes I pick up a pinch of uncolonised sub and squeeze between my fingers to get an idea how saturated it is.

Most people here will tell you to ignore your measuring device, they're not accurate and you may rely on them rather than developing your natural instinct to know what's going on by observing your grow.

Overall though, I'd say mist if you don't have beads on your myc and otherwise leave it alone to do its thing.

That's for sure true. Ditch the gadgets. And if that's not shadow in the pictures, it looks dust dry. But could be a shadow though. But if not. Yeah, dry AF.

If you have your conditions correct then water will bead up on the myc poking thru the surface on its own. It takes a awhile and usually when there's more colonization. I wouldnt spray yet.

Just a shadow yes. Thanks God for giving us  such a beautiful term as field capacity is:heart:I oversaturated the substrate a bit because of miscalculations on coir brick vs soft state weights. It is CVG with a bit of more gypsum than on videos. I followed Philly Golden Teacher videos:thumbup:

Here are some updates:evil:

I am bit curious about white spots of mycelium on caps of those B+. I couldn't find definite answer about them. I have plenty of FAE through 12 1" inch holes with micropore tape and AC and fan on low settings moving air around the room. So I believe it isn't from lack of FAE. I also fan and mist walls and lid about twice a day.

I get them little hats all the time with my B+, its totally fine, just a quirk of genetics.

Good to know:thanx:

Also I have a question: Is it ok for fruiting body to touch the inner sticky side of micropore tape on monotub? The tape appears completely dry and seemingly not sticking to it. I also sprayed walls outside with 70% iso and cleaned with iso sanitized paper towel. I just like to keep it as clean as possible at any occasion. I decided to let it grow whichever way it pleases as for now :shroomin:

you don’t really need to use the iso for anything, fruiting is an inherently dirty process & only having clean spawn from the get go is gonna prevent any contamination. there are millions of contaminate spores inside that tub already just from the air. the outsides of the tub aren’t gonna affect anything at all, neither will the insides

Good to be reminded of this fact :bow2:

There is progress hourly. Almost as I can see them grow with naked eyes  One of larges shrooms has veil breaking already. Am I correct?
Should I harvest/clone it already?
I plan to clone largest and best looking of them at harvesting. I am also trying to pin in agar jars to clone them at early stage of development too.

I have harvested large ones with opened veil. I hope I have made in time before they dropped spores. Before I ended cleaning my workspace they were already opened:crazy: 80-100g wet. Cloned from two of them.

Here are other little bit smaller shrooms I decided to wait a little bit but now I look  they will break veil soon. Should I harvest  those also?

you would know if they dropped spores lol they get everywhere. you could harvest those now or in a few hours, but i don’t think it’ll matter too much either way

Just the right way

I am starting testing now. 3 grams dry. I hope this will be enough for first time trip. Although I am experienced psychonaut and oneironaut I am new to mushrooms.  With additional healing plants assistance (Cannabis, Menthol tea - my favorite drink) I will report how the operation will go on.

The photo depicts ~25% of the full portion of ~3g. I remind you that this is all done for personal research and spiritual purpose only. Not defying anything in the known universe.

3g is a solid mushroom dose. i prefer 3-4g when doing cubes personally. i’ll usually test clones with 2.5g as a baseline.

i hope the trip went well!!
