Keeping size and shape when drying question
    #2773865 - 06/08/04 04:06 AM (14 years, 17 days ago)

How can I dry shrooms while having them look the same size and not wrinkled?
I've seen it happen before but how do I do it?

thanks for the answers. I guess I was wrong.

But I had seen dried shrooms before that had a bigger size than the skinny ones I had after drying. Also they were smooth looking and not wrinkly.

Do different type mushrooms have different appearances after drying?

Putting the mushroom in a container and sucking all of the air out will make the water boil and evaporate from the mushroom, might blue it severely but if done correctly shouldn't alter the shape drasticly. Mind you it won't be nearly the original size, but should retain its shape.
