Hey everyone thought I might kick off this years actives thread after making my first find of the season. Found these little gyms in a pile of mulch this morning. Hope the subs aren't too far behind...

Thread has started woooo!
They're amazing looking mushrooms those Gyms  Your post was the stoke this morning needed Nick...will be heading out later today to have a poke around at a new spot that features a creek running through a gully flanked by eucalypts, hopefully I can find something to contribute to the thread 
Here's to a ripper season for all 
Edit: Far too dry for subs still, but I think we found Gymnopilus junonius growing from a decaying trunk in the creek bed.

Another junonius find this evening...
Not great picture quality...wasn't on a forage and only had my bike torch to illuminate. Great little cluster though.

I thought although no psilocybin was present they contained compounds similar to Kava?

On the weight of available evidence I'm going to agree that you're both correct here. Have never really looked in to the Gymnopolis sp. and can delete my posts, but may be helpful as a lesson on these laughterless Gyms

No need to delete the posts. They’re still quite photogenic, besides it’s nice to have some photos rolling along while we wait for Subs to make an appearance.

Hi everyone! Looks like the season is about to get started for us Vic peeps.. 60mm of rain over the past 3 days and prime overnight temps, do you think they'll be popping up by Saturday? I hate working full time

Damn, that was fast, I was hoping to start the Vic 2022 thread but Nick beat me to it.
Will be a bumper season for subs I reckon with La Niña's influence not abating just yet. Nice light constant drizzle today and more over the next day or two, woohoo!
