Banana ferment is great in flower.

Banana on the right. Mango to the left of that. Pumpkin in the last two left.

Calphos

Cherry Date ferment for flower on the left and Lemon Balm immuno boost & pest control on the right.

Lemon Balm foaming.

Loop, Chicken guano, Dandelion, and Biochar Nitrogen boost. Super potent.

Ginger, Garlic and Pepper ferments for hardcore pest control.

The list goes on but that's all the pics I have loaded.

so you are basically just giving the weed the hippie dippy holistic treatment? ever tried some kombucha for potentially a tiny bit of a bacterial biome in the roots?

These are all live bacillus ferments. Less alcohol to evaporate and cheaper to maintain than a scoby. I grow mushrooms too so the grain soak water is a constant source of fresh bacteria. The fruits and veggies contain some as well.
It's cut off mostly, but far right in last pic there's a jar of lactobacillus serum. That's the real deal when it comes to live. Magic juice.

How’s the smell when you open the fruit ones?

I can’t tell if it would be good or horrible.

Mine end up smelling like beer kinda or sweet/sour fizzy kombucha kinda.

Lacto smells kinda like rotted milk before dilution.
Once diluted cant smell or taste.
Wife and I drink it and give it to animals.

Here is my 2x4 (only active tent)
Huckmonkey

Tatooine donuts

2 different phenotypes right now(we'll call them  2 & 3). I mainlined the 1st tatooine donut so I'm not sure which pheno that was compared to plant 2 & 3. I'm calling it 1.

Seems like #3 is more LCxCN leaning and #2 is more jawa pie leaning.
#3 is taller but nodes are further. She is changing color faster(might been low on nutrients) also smells like vanilla right now.
#2 is more compact and closer nodes. Also changing color but not as fast (might not need as much nutrients as #3) smells like vanilla/piney.

Will have to do a final weight once dry and test them out to see which of the 1,2,3 phenotypes I will continue with. I have about 200 seeds so far of pheno#1, and I have only just broke up some of the buds. There a lot of bud left so there will be lot more seeds.

Beyond autoflower what are some good strains to grow for novice types?

Most Indica dominant strains tend to be forgiving. I always found Pitbull to be very easy and fast. It's a pretty old strain now though. Could be hard to track down.

Ha! Yeah, the lacto smells like Rennet. Cheese makers will know that smell. :cheese:

I would say get a couple clones off a friend so you got something flowering right away. And order a pack of beans that’s indica dominant  or a hybrid. Sativas can get tricky sometimes.

Some good ones I would like are big bud, northern lights, and skunk crosses.

I like that funk, fruity foo foo stuff is nice and tasty sometimes but I like that funky nasty stuff that you pull away from then you smell it again!

Yeah sativas take longer which means more time for small issues to add up.

Autoflowers aren’t great to start with either because the first couple weeks need to be on point or you’ll end up with a tiny plant.

I’d go for a clone or female seeds, and something with a shorter flower period.

My clone guy hit me up the other day letting me know he's got cuts ready for the season, I wanted to ask for his menu/selection but I know I would feel compelled to buy a few just because lol (he always has a selection of legit real deal strains/clone only stuff).

Also seeing all the deals that breeders & seed-vendors have going on at the moment...and the spring time vibe in the air here. I have prepped my fabric pots and lightweight prepped some plots of soil/in the earth, just in case some shit happens and I end up stuck here longer. But dang.

Any northern hemisphere outdoor growers in the thread this time around?...If so, what do you plan on growing outdoors this year?

.

I told myself I'm done growing big plants outdoors after last year.  Too much hassle, cuts way into deer season, I'm not getting paid, ect ect ect...

But I'll just get on herbies for a second to look at beans... Oh, a spring sale!  Maybe I'll just peek at early finishing/september F1 hybrids....

*goes through checkout*

They got me
:shrug::facepalm::grin:

Soon as it stops raining/snowing this week I'm mixing my soil for the 45 gallon pots and getting the yard set up for my legal 4 outdoor plants in Oregon.  Going to give these early finishers a go and see if that alleviates my fall problems.  I'm also going to be sticking to a rotation of spinosad and BT to deal with cabbage moths and other pests.  Now that I live in the city again the insect pests are everywhere and have to be managed.

I'm also popping at least 2/3 of my old seed collection to see what breaks soil.  Just going to give away a ton of auto seedlings to people for funsies so they can have a go at growing a manageable little plant.  I'm going to flower out some of my old photoperiod seeds in the mini-tent under the LED to see what's shaking genetics wise.  I'll build another mini-LED cab to keep bonsai moms in.  If I get a good cut from them I'll keep the bonsai mom and give away cuttings for free.  I love doing everything I can to screw the profits of the corporate cannabis system here in Oregon.  I quit consuming cannabis so I give almost all of it away to patients in need and the homeless folks in my neighborhood.  Don't need a roof over your head to be my neighbor.

Cool post. I know a lot of people who use ferments, some even on a large scale. I need to try it this year for my personal.

pressed 5 grams and got a gram of goop. So 20% yield on the first press.

Smoked that up…
Pressed 10 grams and got 1.70 grams

Are you guy’s hip to drip tech? Seems pretty cool if you can figure out where the goop is going to end up…

Thunks are moving along nicely and packing on some serious weight.

One smells of sweet bubblegum and the other of sweet skunk.

What's this..... day 80 of flower maybe.

1st pic 3rd row is the brickweed female. The outdoor Brickweed female is just getting started good after the rat/squirrel attack, but it's going to be gorgeous come fall if it staysoutside, but I haven't decided yet if I want to bring it in to finish because I've never had good luck outside with just one plant,  bugs always eat the shit out of it if I don't constantly feed it neem throughout the summer and I don't want to buy neem right now.

The frosty buds are Jillybean,  they have trichomes everywhere, even on the fan leaves,  this would be a great hash strain.

The White99 buds are fattening up, they have 1-2 weeks before they are ready to harvest. The Jillybean has about 3-4 wks and the Brickweed female inside has about 4-6 wks to go.

Here's the best I can do to show the White99.

Here's another shot of the brickweed female,  she's going to be pretty imo.

Here's the outdoor Brickweed female rat/squirrel survivor.

These are clones from the indoor plants, some have been recently topped so they look odd.

Edit: I love seeing outdoor grows, that's where we can the true potential for yield and everything else you can want from bud. The only problem is the pest.

Darryl,  can't remember if I asked but what are you doing to keep the bugs off? I love seeing your plants.

That rosin looks good.

Those plants are sweet man. Bubblegum smells and taste are something I havent grew yet. I bet it's nice.
I like seeing outdoor plants. I'm just amazed at how big they can get.
I hope I can grow a big monster outside one day.
Good job

Thanks hobbit! It was pressed at 200. I couldn’t be happier!

I found out that rosin can soak though the parchment at high pressure. Never got that kinda pressure with the hair straightener… lol. I found a whole dab on the wrong side of the parchment! A big one! Lol

I did your raffle thing! Hopefully you win! I will give it to you if I win…

I keep trying to get the rosin dripping with the hair straightener and clamp but never got it going. I think I’m probably not using enough bud though either.

That rosin looks exactly like what I got from gorilla zkittles and hit so hard I haven’t touched the rig since

So sick man. How long are you expecting them to go? Like 16 weeks?

Doc do you shwazz some of those plants or whatever that defoliation is called? The near total fan leaf strip on day 1 and 21?

That outdoor female came back pretty well from being eaten.

I don't know what it's Called,  mom and dad taught me how to do it but you're spot on with time. I defoliate day 1 of flower and first day of week 3. I don't do anything else but feed and water until 2 wks before harvest, then it's water only and no water the last 5 days with no light for 24-48 hrs before picking to stress the plant for maximum trichomes.

Edit: The survivor has definitely made a turn around, it literally only had tiny bits of growth on the stem base. You may be able to see where it was chewed off at the main stem.
