Can isopropyl alcohol vapours kill mycelium?

I am thinking about doing an experiment in a glove box, but I want to be overzealous with the isopropyl alcohol.
If I spray down the inside with the alcohol and leave it wet inside the container while working with mycelium, assuming the mycelium never comes in contact with the liquid isopropyl alcohol and is only exposed to the atmosphere (containing vapors), will the mycelium die?

I would use water with a drop of soap in it for your sab walls not iso.

I'm curious what your experiment is? Does it require a glove box?
If you just need a clean environment to work in, the best advice is to remove the gloves and use it as a SAB. This will be more effective than an ISO soaked glove box for clean procedures.

OK, I am thinking of an experiment to reduce condensation when I pour agar plates. It involves reducing the water vapor in the air inside the SAB. Replacing the water with alcohol inside the SAB (no open flame of course)So I had the same question about the vapor and the Mycelium.

yup, iso absorbs water but not THAT much. remember 99% iso is a thing, if it absorbed MAD water it would drop to 80% pretty quick. it helps keep water from dropping out of gasoline in freezing temps but thats MUCH different than abosrbing many ml of condensation FROM INSIDE a petri dish..long and short no it wont work and yes if enough iso to try and get a osmotic suck of water it will kill myc... thats why it kills myc is it sucks out the water (or destroys lipid cell walls of bac or virus)
if want to do something try to use TEMPERATURE to prevent condensation. pan of warm water over lid sof petri or just remember petris are poured daily with no or little condensation.

Ah, a clarification. My concept is that I will spray iso on the table and inside of SAB instead of water. The stuff floating in the air would stick to the alcohol instead of the water with a bit of soap in it that I usually use.
The humidity of the air inside the SAB will be lower, as there is not the mist of water on the surfaces evaporating into the air and making it more humid.
I would also warm the glass petri dishes and cool the agar to the point it is almost congealing. If I can dehumidify t he room air somehow I'll do that.
If it all works, I'll post a tek!
