Acid Every Weekend

Usually I take acid, an average of... maybe every 2 months or so. So I did it last weekend, I'm definately dosing next weekend, and I have plans to go somewhere that I would like to dose the week after that. That makes 3 weekends in a row.
I know a lot of people have done this, and do this on tour everysummer, but I'm just wondering what kind of negative effects it has had on everyone. Am I just in more serious risk of a burnout? Cause I can deal with that. What about tolerance? Am I gonna notice any tolerance build up of the next couple weeks? Or is a week generally enough? I'm not becoming a acid head or anything, its just I have cool things to do the next two weekends. Afterwards it'll be back to waiting at least a month, preferably two.
Thanks in advance for the input. Please share experiences if you can

Well, I know for a fact that John Lennon from the Beatles had to stop his constant use of LSD because it was difficult to get ideas for songs....unless he was LSD at the time.
I know from expierience that I go through a huge lack of creativeness and....just being my 'ol self after constant use of acid
It's a shame too...a very wonderful substance it is.

Yes that it is. Now that I think about it, I've done it two weekends in a row before, just never 3 And I'm sure I'll be ok, I'm already pretty burnt and kinda like it

yeah, habitual use of any drug really isnt a good idea.. not only for possible health problems, but building up tolerance to it really sucks also!

Hey Shrilly,
I don't get to stop by this site that often anymore, which is a sad sad thing but I just took a quick glance through the posts and saw yours and wanted to drop in and give my two cents...the one time I did acid two weekends in a row, I definitely felt fried afterwards...but lord knows I would have done it the next weekend if I'd have had it. It's such a rare pleasure, I think you may as well go for it. When I go see Phish on the 17,18,19,20, I wouldn't be surprised if I have 2 or three days in a row once I get my hands on sweet Lucy.
You lucky freak!

I did acid for the better part of 3 years (at least 5 times a month) and I think I had a great time. My friends told me that I did. But as time goes by I really have a hard time remembering specifics.

Never been a big fan of acid(first time tripping was on acid and well I was way too young, took too much, and was in a bad place) but I would be careful doing it too frequently, got a friend who used to live in orange beach, was dropping acid up to a couple times a week, and did it every week at least(except for the rare break to let his tolerance go down) for a couple months. He is a changed person now, I can't describe it well without you knowing him, but he has a different more "shady" personality and is a little paranoid all the time and just doesn't come off as himself, he used to be a real happy go lucky, talk to everyone kind of guy, and that was a year ago and he acts the same way I describe still, and if you say something about it, he insists he is just the same as he always was and the acid had no effect, but most of our friends noticed the same thing I did right after he moved back from orange beach.
And the "change" coincides with his time doing acid and was too sudden(imo) to be a coincidence.

Well, I know for a fact that John Lennon from the Beatles had to stop his constant use of LSD because it was difficult to get ideas for songs....unless he was LSD at the time. Not sure about that, he wrote a lot of his best songs during the time he was on acid - and according to Mcartney they never wrote when they were high because it didn't work. During his acid years he wrote Tomorrow never knows, Strawberry fields and Across the universe. During his non-acid years he wrote "Freeda people" and "Starting Over"...

Do you know what "Strawberry Fields" is about Alex? "Strawberry Fields" was an old Salvation Army children's home down on Beaconsfield Road, where John used to play when he was a kid, because John only lived 5 minutes down the road. Today, only the gates are standing I honestly do not think that song has ANYTHING to do with John's LSD use. Oh, I said "constant" use He still used it, but not as often

Do you know what "Strawberry Fields" is about Alex? Well, it's about Lennons memories of his childhood which as he said were stimulated by his use of LSD. The confused language he uses -"Nothing is real", "I mean I think I know, Ah yes but it's all wrong" doesn't sound like someone straight trying to remember a salvation army home either. Strawberry fields was a psychedelic vision of his childhood, the chance of him writing something like that before he used LSD was pretty small. He still used it, but not as often Well he said he just used to eat it all the time from late 66 through 67 (Which is the period he wrote Strawberry Fields)

every time i get lots of acid i cant stop eating it till its gone. Tolerance is a bitch but you can just take more. Ive taken 4 while i started to come down off 2 and that was ok althought you might want to wait till you come down all the way to get back to the peak.

I've been saying....
Just because he has some verses that dont sound sober, doesnt mean that he DIDNT write them while ON drugs...but that the song is NOT about acid.

I'm sure he didn't write them on drugs. The point is the acid informed his world view while creating the songs. Lennon wasn't Fred Durst - he's not gonna write a song "about acid" saying "Hey, everyone, lets take LSD dude". He wouldn't be so gross. He's taking the experience of LSD on board and expressing it's psychedelic influence on his life through the music - Strawberry Fields had EVERYTHING to do with the influence of LSD on his life. It certainly isn't simply about a salvation army home. (Actually, Lennon never went in the salvation army home - there was bit of a garden in the grounds where he played - that's what he's referring to)

Thanks, but I already knew that.
You're taking everything I say out of context.
I mean, you are one of his friends, and he told you about what all the songs mean, right?

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make Chaz. We agree that acid informed most of his writing at least from 66 to late 67?

Timothy Leary dropped acid 311 times in his life, and I guess he was fine but he also always had 100% pure acid I think from Switzerland, had a perfectly controlled environment, and trip sitters; not to mention he was a p.h.d. in psychology which would help him throughout his trips.
I'd say once a month TOPS. I know you guys might tell me to stfu since I haven't done it but isn't acid one of the most traumatic things you can put yourself through? I think its just too much stress. Just think about how weed screws some people up.

No man, it depends on how much you take, and that goes the same for any drug. An acid trip could be real smooth, completely stressless. It depends on you and the amount.. I have taken 7 hits and was completely cool and calm at the time, just enjoying the trip.

are you sure he only dropped it 311 times? in his book "your brain is God" he claims to have had "several thousand" psychedelic experiences.

I already thought 311 was a bit on the low side for a guy like him. I'm 19 and I think I've tripped about 18 times on shrooms and 25 times on acid.
Doing acid every weekend is cool, as long as you don't notice any weird stuff going on...
If you feel your mind is not 100% stable anymore when sober or the quality of your trips are not what it was anymore, take a couple of weeks break to let it repair.
If you do it every week, it does get less special though.
