Using a PC with a warped bottom?
    #2771880 - 06/07/04 03:52 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

I recently picked up an unused 8qt stainless Mirro PC. After PC'ing 4 qt jars at 15psi for 1 hour (following all of the manufacturers recommendations and cautions) and letting it cool at room temp, the bottom of the PC has warped in the center. The bottom is now concave with about a 1/4" deflection, and there are a few dents where the maker's stamp is.

This happened to anyone else's PC's? Any danger in continuing to use it?

I have one of those flat-top stoves. When I first put my PC on (cool), it sits fine. When it gets to 15psi, it bulges at the bottom and no longer sits flat. It sounds as if yours just maintained this shape, I wouldn't worry...
