Woo hoo! Did pretty well today in the north at altitude. Second find for the season/ever. Still haven't found any in the valley but they can't be too far away. Doing spore prints now and will confirm ID in separate post tomorrow. Yay!

Thanks Days of Magic - I found a lady online called Amanita Dreamer and she has some amazing videos on prep and experiences so I'm going to dry these above 68 degrees and then boil them and make a tea for microdosing before I attempt a full dose.
I went for a walk a few days back just for some exercise with a friend. There's always lots of fungi on that road, but I've never found subs before. They were everywhere! All along the road I kept find small families of them. Bagged 200g in an hour

I found some more of these. Stoked as I'm pretty certain now they are Psilocybe alutacea. Growing directly from horse dung.

Nice find on the alutacea! Those subs are looking nice too, yet to find any growing out of pine needles after about 6 years hunting!
I'm seeing some fruiting activity from non active species at sea level but yet to see any subs in the central north east.

Thanks Justafunguy. Only my second successful season, but I've only found them in pines so far. Find them growing directly in decomposing wood as well.

My first season and successful search. I'm not sure about the guy on the right though. It didn't bruise like the other and was from a different spot.

Thank you!! The subs did all the work haha I just snapped the pics.
This season is absolutely wild guys. Finding so many beautiful specimens so far. An old spot of mine that usually bloomed later on in the year was littered with pins today. Other spots, including some new ones, are just showing off at this point. So many that it's overwhelming, too many photo opportunities. These are a few of my favorites from today though, including a few from my front yard :O. I had a feeling they'd be there. Only a few small ones so far but I can see it going pretty crazy just outside my front door. It's a happy time of year folks, hope everyone is enjoying themselves on their walks.

I was out foraging for saffron milk caps and slippery jacks today and I saw these:

Up north, not far from Devonport.

Hello all, First post here and first wild pick since the early 90's. I've lurked here as an anon for a couple of years and have been researching the cultivation of various strains of cubes at home for a few seasons. So a belated hello to you all.
The only confusing part of this find, to me, is that these were all growing as a single clump (30 or so to each myc root base) which is something I've never seen before.
Urban area, cold gully, south of Hobart.

Hi everyone,
I've recently begun doing some reading here and hunting and finally came across these specimens after a few trips searching. They are all from the same little patch. I only picked about 5 of them, 1 big one and some smaller ones that had been damaged. I left the others because they aren't far away and I figured that if they are subs then I can go back in a few days when they get bigger . It was very wet and they all appeared to bruise a dark blue/black color, especially when I got home and they'd been banged around a bit in the bag. Spore print does look like a faint purple to me, though the paper under the print got stained a bit yellow/brownish in the middle because i'd washed some dirt off the cap and the water dripped onto the paper...
I'd love to hear some thoughts on whether these are subs.. I dried them just in case!
Location was the side of a small grassy path, well shaded with tall trees either side. Northern Tas, Cheers!
