dung not colonizing, too wet or weak mycelium??

Ok, here's the situation. My friend innoculated some jars of birdseed, they ended up not being very strong. He said they grew slowly and didn't show aggressive recovery after shaking like he had seen strong healthy mycelium do in the past. Nevertheless, the jars colonized fully. He then spawned some dung w. one of the jars and the mycelium is hardly colonizing the dung at all. The mycelium is growing out onto the dung from each innoculation point, but not at the normal rate of growth, much slower. This is more than likely due to weak mycelium, correct??

Yes, some spore runs are just weak. Bacterial contamination
can also slow growth.

Was it multi spore or culture? If multi spore, I'd put it down
to genetics, if a clone or culture, could be bacteria.

Also, ph problems can slow growth
