Zeolite - A massive yield booster? 1

I heard from a very reputable source (a large scale grower)that using Zeolite will massively boost yields, resulting in substantially bigger mushrooms.
A google search doesn't reveal much of interest, apart from this article from 2010 which is reporting a minute increase in yields:
https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Baig-Mmv/publication/269819459_Effect_of_clinoptilolite_zeolite_on_mushroom_growth/links/596442d4a6fdccc9b1606e1d/Effect-of-clinoptilolite-zeolite-on-mushroom-growth.pdf?origin=publication_detail
I'm highly starting to question the validity of the information that I got from my friend, but before I disregard this I'd like to ask if anyone has an opinion on the matter or have experience with working with Zeolite?

have never tried it, but there's no particular reason it should work
it is stone, most of the myc we grow has probably not much use for that directly I guess
it's cheap though, so try it... then you can tell your friend you were not able to make it perform as he did
or you can report back here that your yields were staggeringly increased and we will all thank you kindly

It appears from a few studies I read to increase yield. It helps fix nitrogen, retain water, and seems to shorten production time. I would run some experiments and see if the effects yielded are worth it. I think this is something I will try to mess around with, so thanks for the share.

how would rock dust fix nitrogen? got a source for that?
I can understand there may be N fixing microbes that can use rock dust, but the dust itself has no capability to capture N from the atmosphere in my understanding
anyway, let us know what you learn from it if you do it fellas

Myc eats holes in aluminum pans right? Maybe we should be feeding our subs strips of foil.. boost fruit density? Iām kidding but I low key wanna try feeding a sub some strips of foil

So just sand blasting media. Interesting.

I was recently looking into using gravel / sand as a casing material. Initially I thought that the benefit was due to surface conditions. After a bit of a chat in the official woodlovers thread I'm starting to think this is due to mycelium consuming all of it's nutrients and reaching the end of it's life cycle.
Reddit post showing increased yields with sand mixed into casing layer.

Indeed
Mushrooms are the end of the cycle and they won't feel the need to unless out of food, space or facing destruction (contam etc)
Grain farmers use a trick to basically use Dessa or herbicide OD to force the plant to put all of its remaining energy to reproduction vs survival (as the seed is its only survival option at that point)

Hmmm... Hmmm...
Zeolite is kind of molecular sieves.
What about test ?
Coco 50% + Zeolite 50% ? Coco 50% + 25% Verm + 25% Zeolite ?
But zeolite in form of 0,5-1mm sand

I chose a poor word. The study demonstrated it prevents the leeching of nitrogen-rich fertilizers and helps retain nutrients and improve uptake.
