usually i’d agree, as i’ve definitely had that happen on the edges of plates before, but typically it’s on plates i haven’t used yet that get trich & usually it’s not also doing the same thing towards the middle of the plates & in a bunch of random spots that aren’t the edge. it’s very possible that’s the case, though, i’ve just never seen anything like this in my plates before.

Here are some pics of the thicker shoebox tubs I got going of PE, the other one that's not colonized as much is GT and they were both spawned at same time kinda curious why the GT is so slow🤔

At what point do you break and shake grains that have seemingly stalled myc? It’s been about 11 days, many of my grains are at 20-30% but many of them also only show very small patches of myc. Should I just shake these anyways?

What did you inoculate the jars with? I'd go ahead and shake the jars at 20-30%.

B+, what about the stuff that’s at like 5% that seems stalled?

He was asking if you inoculated grains with a spore syringe/agar/LC, etc. Not which variety you're running

Ok so if you used spores then colonization times are going to vary greatly.
Post pics of your jars.

Here are some pictures. I’ll admit, most of them are better looking than they were a day or 2 ago. However I have a few I injected at the same time that are pushing 30-40%. Might wait another week to break and shake these ones, see what happens.

looks fine so far although maybe turn your flash off or adjust lighting so glare doesn't mess up the pic. any liquid inoculation is gonna take longer than grain spawn so don't be deterred by time.

What's does anyone think of this tub? Spawned 8days ago and very slow growth , I did everything the right way it was a set just a lil under Field capacity and the top layer I gave a good soak but it's just leaving puff balls all over but the bottom is just about fully colonized. Does anyone think I should throw it out or just let it keep going?👀 Also this is GT from A2G so it should be a clean culture I would think

no reason to throw it out if it's not changing colors IMO. could be struggling against bacteria or something. if the top layer was way too wet that might affect things too. just let it ride

Coolio I will do just that and leave it be!! I did have a couple other containers sitting on top of it my thought was that it was cutting off any fae from getting in it and that was slowing growth but I have PE in the same exact type of container with other on top of that one and it's growing just fine. Maybe it must be a bacterial problem like you said sadly that would suck💯 I'll let it keep riding out😎

So I've always used eco earth brand coco coir, used to be able to get 9 bricks on Amazon for like $25 so less than $3/650g brick. Availability and pricing sucks ass right now tho. Curious what other brands of coco folks are using!
Over the years I've dabbled with a couple other brands and got trich so I always ended up back with eco earth

Cyco brand works good. Big blocks though so you have to cut/break em up or get the loose stuff.
