Some slightly funky looking Psilocybe subaeruginascens woodchips. They smell great though and I'm definitely making use of them one way or another.
Melmak and PEU. Seems like the Melmak forgot which way is up. Originally I thought I had forgotten to turn a light on but upon second thought the tub received normal lighting.

I don’t think that’s correct. I think endospores are killed during the pc run and most other bacteria that contaminate our grows comes from after the fact with sterile technique and airborne dust, poking through SHIPS etc so in that sense all bacteria should be worried about
I was saying that usually the bacteria you see in ppl's jars are Bacillus, which do form endospores. Sterilziation should kill them all, but it doesn't always - and some people struggle with this. But I didn't say they were the ONLY ones we should worry about. They are the majority though, and probably quite aggressive. I don't think I've ever had other bacteria than Bacillus contaminate a grain jar.

Gotcha but I’ve experienced just the opposite.. I’ve cleaned up many cultures over the years by drying them out but those come from poking SHIPS… I would think most bacteria found in a home come from our shedding skin cells. How do you know that bacillus are what you’re seeing in your jars? Are you scoping them? Just curious.
Like has been said, it’s not a cure all by any means but if you have a culture you want to attempt to save, it’s another tool to use that could work.. in my case it works most of the time.
It’s fun/neat to do, I suggest trying it out… drying them out is a good way to keep cultures young as it completely halts growth as opposed to slowing it down in the fridge.. it’s a nice tool to have in your arsenal
