Anyone ever catch their Echinopsis mirabilis in bloom?

My mirabilis is currently near to blooming. Not quite on the cusp, but surely getting there..
This plant blooms at night, is strongly (pleasantly) scented, and the flower remains vital and proud for only half an hour or so.

Below, a pic of one in bloom I got from google:

@ Allium
An unfurling - at present still in its early stages - began a few hours ago.
I think it may very bloom sometime this night-time.
I'll do my best to catch it.
But I cannot promise anything.

what I expect you to do is post up all night in a chair, and watch it with your camera in hand, until booms. And I don't care it it takes one full week!
Kidding mate, looking forward to it

I write you what, I will sit in my chair, one leg crossed over the other, in the corner of the room, in the dark, smoking cigarettes and watching the plant.
Perhaps, now and again, a moonbeam will alight on my face..

I had a small one bloom under CFL through winter some years back, but it didn't open fully.

Nice, man,
Yeah my one hasn't opened fully yet - I think I underestimated the time required (or something went terribly wrong..)

I would rather all my cacti/succulents were outside on my porch in full sun, but the neighbour's kid (being just a kid) enjoys man-handling my plants..

I'll put her outside now, and see what difference, if any, full sunshine makes.

Yeah, all my cacti are outside except for my Lophs because the birds like to manhandle those by pecking holes in them
Keep us posted, and tell the neighbour's kid you can look, but no touching!
