The great Mayan clone line-up.  Although these are all from a pin plate that itself came from a pin plate it still has diversity in pheno, as 4th plate shows. Gonna work with that rhyzo section around 9 o'clock 'cause I like rhyzo:

Natalensis clones from promising plate sector pins:

Cloning a store-bought Shiitake that I really liked and kept the stem top in the fridge in a wrapped petri for a couple of months:

Fresh Lions Mane clone looking good:

KSSS T1 plate knotting after 2 months, waiting for those to develop a bit more for pheno hunting :

The amber plates are standard LME, yeast, rye flour, agar formula.  The clear plates on the right side are a new grain broth with agar formula.

Theory is that they grow on rye grain so why not make the plates out of it, basically.  Seems to be working, and is simple as fuck to make. :awesomenod:

I had some enoki cultures that looked like your shiitake ones, i was debating if it was contaminated but i put it to grain anyways and it looks fine there

Dropped this spawn on the floor, found it the next day, and just discarded the part of it on the floor, which is now just drying out and dying there I guess. Every time I drop some mycelium on the ground theres this thought process in mycology where you feel bad about them falling on the floor because that means they are dirty, and that means death.

Hopes up for you mr TWC tub. TWC AINT EVEN A REAL STRAIN they tell me now.

Does TWC stand for Texas white cap/cock? Is it albino, or just supposed to be a pale cube?

ATL7 Cosmoplex F3.  I'd like to think I am approaching the point of "flushes per agar cup" (just kidding).

I will probably use these pins as transfer points further into the F3, so far I have not gone past the F3 and am not in a rush to do so.

I have updated the print giveaway (signature) to also be open to international members and expect to restock more prints over the weekend.

Came home to find this shoebox had popped itself open. This culture is unknown, the agar plate somehow ended up unlabeled. But whatever it is, I really like the phenotype and am hoping to stabilize it a bit after a few generations. They start out with a normal orange cap, but as they mature the edges fade to a lighter color that almost looks leucistic.

Nothing spectacular but these 3 tubs are the result of my first grow.  B+ spore syringes from a sponsor here to brown rice that was s2b in 4 quart unmodified mini tubs.

I appreciate all the advice from the members here that helped me with these grows!

Smalltalk, what are those in the 2nd pic you posted?? Those are gorgeous.

Tax: Tampanensis (Flush #4), PF Ecuador (Flush #3), Dwarf GT (Flush #2)

That's the best tampanensis flush I've gotten yet, and it's not until #4?! I don't understand... that tub has been rolling since December. It usually just puts out 3 or 4 fruits at a time but now it's just exploded! Anyone else get weird yeilds from their tampas?

1st pea+ f7 clone I took went bacterial (kinda figured that’d happen based on the clone tissue), so I recooked the jars and inoculated them with the clean clone and here they are after a shake

I hate losing spawn jars and I’ll do anything to fix it.. which is actually pretty easy, just mist the top grains a little and recook em lol. I should say that’s only for bacterial jars.. I don’t fuck around with mold.. that gets tossed

Lol I’m good on the fan club.. I’m really introverted and it’s getting worse as I get older, but I appreciate the kind words

Yeah, clean grain is clean grain and I’m willing to bet there was more bacteria in the grain the first run through the pc than there is even when inoculated with 5ml of bacterial lc.  And it’s up against the glass.  The trick is catching it early (within the first week) and it’s pretty easy to tell if lc isn’t clean.. if you don’t see visible myc growth on some kernels after the first 2-3 days, there’s a good chance it’s bacterial.  In this case I saw growth on day 5 (with active myc lc anyway.. dried out myc, water takes 5 days to show growth) and it was slow.  That and the glc grains didn’t recover well and had a bit of a “old dish rag” smell to it so I knew from that the jars were doomed

I’m actually using these recooked jars for further testing of the steam pen because I reused the grown back glc grains that inoculated the almost colonized qts from my last post (second pic below).  Before the steam pen, I wouldn’t even try to reuse the glc grains for another myc water pull after they recovered because with all the liquid that’s left over after pulling the myc, a simple iso wiped SHIP was bound to be dirty and all that liquid bred that bacteria real fast
(hope all that wasn’t too confusing)

So far everything is working out.. recooked jars are recovering fine after yesterdays shake

New jars are cruising too.. the burst grains really help with colonizing speed

If those jars were anything but pea+ I’d say they look sketch but pea+ is just so tomentose.. even the clones.. it looks like pan myc

Then add the burst grains to that and it grows super thick.. pins like crazy tho so I ain’t complainin

That split var 16qt is going to be real neat looking.. both sides are pinning at the same time and are going to be very different looking fruits

The real awesome thing is that I still have the first bacterial clone culture in a 4oz glc jar and I’m going to dry it out and as long as it’s not infected with an endospore producing bacteria, I could (I’m wrapping up for the season and wont get to the culture til the fall) throw that jar in a tub of damp rid (thanks Micello) and have a clean culture within the week.. pretty neat

For reference: Saving bacterial cultures by drying them out

Another nice pf cake in a baggie coming in.. decent sized fruits

If only I was warned of pan cyan strength😀 took some 1.2-1.4 g last night, literally blowed my mind. Me and my friends had to call someone to keep us in check. Bumpy ride but we did it in the end. I laughed more than my whole life combined. Not sure if I need to bury the rest of my stash. Only to be dig out few years from now😎
