2022 official Florida actives thread * 1
    #27692417 - 03/12/22 12:15 PM (2 years, 1 month ago)

Here are my first finds of the season. The ones in the field were on private property so that is as close as I got with the camera. All in Central Florida after a lot of rain and heat this past week.

Not in the numbers I'd like. Definitely not enough rain. One cube and one pan haha

That stinks, my area has had rain almost every day the last 10 days. With quite a bit of heavy rain.

Tons of rain coming tonight and some throughout the next few days. low 80s to high 80s all week. White fungus in dung is always a good sign of hunting times arriving. Ninja drive bys are always epic lol

Nice! You should print some of those and do a giveaway. Wild genetics are popular in the marketplace.

Have some printing already. Will definetly do that but not on this run. A lot of these have dropped a lot of spores already. When I find some that have just broke veil or have interesting features (size, color, etc) I will defiently print some up and drop them in the marketplace. This is just the start of the season. Plenty more time this year.

I’m from VA. Spending time camping with the family and just listing over all these cow pies I’m driving by. I’m an ovoid nut so poop hunting is new to me. Had no idea they were even fruiting right now till I popped on here. Any tips for someone passing through with no access to private land? Camping till Sunday.

I never utilize private property. I respect people's land, with that said florida has a ton of state owned wildlife management areas and most have cattle with walk in trail networks. A quick Google search with easily point you towards some of the more frequented areas in your location of camping. Most pictures I see find them in open fields however 80%+ of what I find has a direct connection with oak trees with lots of oak leaf litter.

Florida WMA’s

The State also has a few prairie preserves/state parks which are awesome in their own right, but also have cattle, horses, and/or bison (and gators of course lol).
