Pinning and Condensation

I have a casing that is approaching two weeks without pinning. I believe the humidity (walls covered with condensation, and water dripping from lid) was too high so I lowered it a few days ago and small grey dots (which in the past have been the first sign of pins) began to appear in a few spots on the mycelia. However a large portion of the service is still covered with condensation and does not show any signs of pinning. Will this condensation prevent pinning in those areas? If so, should I try to blot it up gently with a tissue or something?

naw don't mess with it I'm sure it'll be fine as long as the mycelium dosen't have big puddles on it...if its just water droplets you should be golden

Like the walrus said, just be patient. Casings require a bit lower rH than cakes, so you might just want to give it a bit more air exchange to even out the moisture. What is the temperature in your chamber, and are you giving adequate amounts of light?

casings can handle high rh tho they just don't need it imo

Temps are in the mid 70's and humidity is over 80%, unfortunately my cheap digital Hygrometer goes from 80% to HI with no intervening readings. The temp acccording to my min/max did spike over 90 a couple times, but I don't think it hurt anything because my last casing fruited fine after a similar event. I have two small spots that look overlayed(dense solid white growth) but the rest looks good. I'm just a little worried because I've never had it take this long before, although I know 2 weeks is not unusual. I didn't cold shock this time, could that have made a difference? The strain is Koh Samui.

Does it resemble this?

As long as the water isn't in puddles you should be fine. This casing was what I thought to be as way to wet,but it turned out to be my best flush. Sorry about the pic though just trying to get an idea of how wet you are talking about.

Thats pretty close to what it looks like, but with a slightly higher density of droplets. No puddles though. Thanks for the Pic, I would have posted one but my camera isn't working at the moment.

You should be fine then. How are you supplying humidity?

Humidity is perlite supplemented by occasional misting. The humidity probably got a little too high because I decided to experiment with using weatherstripping to seal this fruiting chamber, which I hadn't done before and I didn't properly compensate for the seal keeping in more moisture.
Light is diffuse sunlight for a minimum of 3 hours a day.
I'm just a little worried because I haven't had a casing take this long to fruit before. But it is my first time with this strain, maybe that or just this particular example of this strain tends to take a little longer. Either that or maybe not cold shocking did increase the time it will take to fruit. Either way, I'm not in a hurry as long as it does get there in the end.

Perlite and misting is overkill in my experience. The casing I posted was only misted and provided it's own fruiting chamber.I only misted it once a day up untill I saw the first pins and I thought I had gotten it way too wet,but obviously I didn't VVV
Results of that casing VVV

No perlite,no geolite,no lava rocks,just plastic(container)!

Those little grey spots are probably rotted primordia/pins.I noticed that if I misted when I had small pins that they would abort and blotch would devour them.I just pulled 14 mushrooms with blotch this morning, nasty looking stuff.
I even went as far as setting my casing out on my counter to try and evaporate some of the surface moisture,it worked a little bit,but I didn't leave it setting out long enough
