Picked 2nd flush off one jar, got 20 caps printing. Gonna give the second jar a couple more days.
Adas, they are also quite tasty. Tried a little one for the sake of taste testing. Kinda nutty without that strong earthy flavour cubes share with Agaricus bisporus, well it's still slightly there as well as that slight "metallic" after taste of mexicana/tampanensis.
Tough little things to chew though.
These took 19 days to start pinning after first flush and 16 days to mature

Looks great, Sir! 5g would not be a bad yield off such cake, esp. considering it's 2nd flush.
EDIT: Also, is it normal that my Sub sub (haha) is shrinking a LOT even before full colonization (at the surface anyway, cant see cos it's a non-transparent pot)?

Thank you. Don't know about the shrinkage, doesn't look like my cakes have shrunk very much compared to what cubes to do cakes.

Mine didnβt seem to shrink at all hardly even after harvesting an ounce. Itβs a weird one for sure.

I'm getting ready to just dip out in silence till I source new semps. I got so much agar that looks fine. Spawn isn't spectacular but typically gets the job done for a few fruits to get better cultures, this is spanking me.
This white mold smells good...

So, it actually dried out to about 7g, which is what I got from the first flushes as well.
Printing is still a bitch and a half. They are so damn faint I feel ashamed to even give them away much less trade.

Question for you guys: on some of my Semperviva agar rounds, when I turn them over, I get these brown (yes they are brown the photo doesn't do justice) rings/circles. They don't look brown from above. I've never had that with Cubes/Natal/Alt#7 or Mex. A.

Does any of you ever had these? What are they? I'm not too confident about putting these to grain.

Try skipping the food coloring. Should be fine if it looks ok from above.

I remember reading your post about that. I'll give printing one more shot with the 2nd flush from my other jar but if it doesn't work out then 3rd flush will get swabbed.

I'm either not being patient or I've got a bad culture. I consistently get this appearance.
 Is that looking right?

So I gave my second jar a few more days, it's been a solid 3 weeks since it started to pin. Last attempt at printing indoor semps. Gonna just swab it this doesn't work out, got 18 caps going.

Youβre getting some nice flushes with that tek.
Those caps look like theyβll print well, the wet paper towel trick will usually help too.

I was considering using a paper towel overnight. Been a few hours, I'll give them a peek soon.
