Hi, I'm thinking about making mushroom chocolates. What kind of paper is best to store them in? Where can I get it? Maybe wax and then tin foil around it? Also, is easiest way to heat up the chocolate and then place in ice trays in the freezer? Do they come out of the ice trays easily without breaking? sorry for the bombardment of questions

this should be in the gourmet forum... maybe... to answer the question though

When you melt the chocolate, use a double boiler to brevent scorching or detempering the chocolate, a double boiler consists of basicly a large pot with water and a smaller pot to place the chocolate in... Walmart hase them pretty cheap....

Also at Walmart in the crafts section, you can find candy molds and cake decorating supplies, also pretty cheap, they carry the foil for wrapping as well in gold, red and some other colors, dont bother with the wax paper unless you plan om making a chocolare wafer by pouring a little out and letting it cool

cool them at room temperature, in the fridge or freezer will alter the taste and consistency of the chocolate....

i just nuke a square of bakers chocolate (per each 2 g) in the microwave in a plastic disposable cup. the chocolate melts (careful not to melt the cup) and you just add the ground shrooms inside the cup and stir and make it evenly distrubited and smack it on the counter a couple times to make it even. then let it cool (i do it in the fridge without any problems) and to get it out just cut away the cup and you have perfect round piece of chocolate and if the cup had printing on it that will show up as well. heh mine always say solo on them. easy clean up too, all you do is throw away the cups. i just store them in alumn. foil in the fridge. if you want to make 2 chocolates use 2 cups 3 chocolates 3 cups ect :stoned:

I find the mushrooms dont work aswell without a santa claus mould.

well I believe chocolate is a slight MAOi, but I'd imagine you would have to eat a disgusting amount of chocolate.

this sounds interesting, so the heat from the melted chocolate wont affect the potency of the mushrooms?

you can store it for just as long as normal mushrooms, maybe even longer. just keep it out of contact with oxygen.
