Do you guys know if there’s anything active inside the actual bud/plant tissue? Or is it solely in the trichomes?

I can’t find anything about this. If it’s only the trichomes then wouldn’t letting buds bulk up at the end just reduce potency? Not taking into account the maturation of the trichomes.

It seems to me like there has to be some appreciable level inside the actual bud but I can never find articles or discussion about it.

I don’t know for sure but I always assumed there was.  May not be THC but there is something in there surly.  I think there is more to full spectrum than just terpenes THC and CBD. I have so many different experiences from different buds. You will never convince me that it’s just THC CBD and terpenes. I think there is  something else we’re not understanding.

I scored some co2 tanks from my Pepsi guy. I let him know there was a bunch of tanks in my office and they have been there since I took this job. He was like oh fuck I didn’t even know I was missing them. I said shit I’ll keep them if you want me too…

The question is what can I do with them? I figure I have air cooled lights and two CO2 tanks that’s at least part way to having a CO2 assisted grow right?  What do I need to get to be able to use these and what’s the best way to use them?

lol score!

unfortunately the tanks are just a small fraction of the setup. Need a co2 regulator and controller for the regulator. But what you need most is a sealed environment. Tents won't cut it so you'd be looking at constructing an entire room in your garage or something. Has to be sealed head to toe. Then you have to think about the other factors that change once you seal the room, like heat and humidity. If you can aircool the hood with air separate from the grow, that's great but there will still be a lot of heat building up in the enclosure itself, and that dang humidity the plants pump out.

It's more complex than it seems at first, too. Like, you might want to install a dehumidifier in the grow enclosure, but that would create enough heat to definitely require air conditioning if you didn't already need it from the lights. You might put the dehumidifier outside the grow to save the heat, but then you have to duct to and from the dehumidifier which would unseal the room. Either way you'll be ducting air to a dehumidifier or an A/C, unless you install a mini-split system. Mini-split is just about the only way to cool a sealed room.

You use a co2 controller. But if everything else isnt on point then co2 does no good.

@Bph that's not unusual for the water to become alkaline as it sits unless it's in an acidic environment. I've been using tap water forever, unless I'm at the fish camp and then it's river water.  I let the tap run for about 30sec. then fill my containers, if adding nutes, I will fill half way, add nutes and finish filling, then PH.

My PH flucuates when they flush the system, but it's not more than 1 or 2 points (0.1-0.2) at the most.

I do not have a shop per se, but I do have a lathe, table saw, miter saw, routers and my favorite tools: Hand augers, chisels, multiple pocket knives with different blade sizes and there's some that I'm crafting from old rail road spikes, making different bladed wedges for splitting planks, but that's why I want the chainsaw mill. If you've never seen one, you should check it out because it's a must have for off grid living in places like Alaska and other wilderness areas.

An adze is another tool that I plan to craft soon, it's essential for working logs and large pieces of lumber to make boats, Ships, housing and more.  The old way is the hard way but it's also proven and I fully understand that situations like whats taking place in Ukraine today, could potentially set the entire world back to the stone age with a nuclear exchange..

Having knowledge of these tools is not the same as having hands on experience and I like to learn anything and everything I can. Particularly, when it comes to essential life skills, it's to late to learn these things when the shit has already hit the fan. Some people look at me crazy when I talk about this stuff, as if none of them believe that it's possible, but history has shown me that no country lasts forever and war will affect every generation. This situation in Ukraine has the potential for global conflict and I don't want to be caught with my pants down while bent over the proverbial barrel. Can you imagine being physically dependent on opiates or something when major conflict breaks out, NO THANKS!!!

I learned gardening from my parents and grandparents, as well as husbandry.  Those things were essential acts around our house, it's how we fed everyone and man that was the tastiest food ever. I don't know if it tasted so good because we grew it or because it was so fresh, probably both.

I have to drag all the power tools into the driveway to do whatever it is that I'm doing with them, so I try to use hand tools as much as possible.  using pegs instead of nails is something that I have been trying to perfect, it's easy to split the wood if the wrong size peg  is used and you have to consider the natural contraction and expansion of the wood.  Yesterday, an older fella of about 80yrs young told to pay attention to the lay of the grain in order to minimize rot, so the water runs off the wood instead of being trapped by the grain and absorbed. When he laid out the boards and pointed out exactly what he was talking about, it was a big aha moment for me, it made perfect since. If you look at the end of a board, you will see the lay of the grain, it should be facing down like a mound an  "n" and not up like a "U". When the grain forms a u it traps water instead of repelling.

You seem cool AF. I wish I was better with tools but I hack shit together. I like to make things but my ADHD makes it hard to focus on the details and way to impatient. I wind up using a chainsaw and some zip ties when I should have used a skill saw and a drill.

I don’t know how the PH can range so much. I got to admit I don’t wash out my buckets very well (at all) so it could be that.  I let the water sit  around for a long time cause I worry about  Bromide  and chlorine. I just never realized how important pH was to growing.  I live in the southeast where we get plenty of rain all growing season so I usually don’t have to water my garden at all unless we have a dry spell and then I have a bunch of rain water saved in barrels.

Well then I’ll save em cause everything else is definitely not on point yet. But I’m happy to say I notice an improvement in the right direction every time I check on them. I really think my pH was totally fucked.

That’s a nice harvest man, how big is that canopy? 4x4?

I pulled a bottom nug off the c99, so far lcxcn is the frostiest I’ve had but this is gonna rival it.

Just came across this, can definitely relate :stoner:

Same. I’m just now barley clean. I had a bad dope problem from 2012 till sometime last year. I’m on kratom now but it’s the same shit. If for some reason I did not have access to kratom I would have to lay down for a couple weeks and be sick. I can’t even leave my house without it or I turn into a different person within 6 hours. My wife will see me yawn with watery eyes and get upset about something silly and then she shows up with my glass of kratom to pull me out of the tail spin. I really hate it and want to be clean but I’m afraid I have ruined my brain chemistry so I just have to have my kratom to function. Better than having track marks and empty pockets or standing in line at the clinic every morning tho.

Does this every day. I’ve had other plants droop but usually right before the lights go and not nearly as severe.

Nyctinasty. Perfectly normal and more prevalent in some strains.

100%, it's prevalent in long flowering sativas for sure. All of my landrace grows droop early quite a while before the sun sets.

Live rosin is great, I've done it a few times with great success but I still prefer fresh or dried washed and then pressed.

Mexican Brick weed is all photo period, I grow no fancy autoflowers. They grow like any other cannabis seed, you just don't have named genetics so it is a crap shoot on quality, but I have grown some fire from brickweed. You do know what I mean by brickweed (reggie), I forget some may not know old skool terms, like us old skoolrs don't know the new Lingo.

Here's two pics from my last brickweed run in 2019, before the super special ops mutant spidermites infiltrated the room.

That's pretty DARRYL! Brickweed gets a bad wrap because of the way it's stored, handled and transported, but when it's first harvested, it's gorgeous and growing sensimilla inside makes it even prettier without the seeds, although I do have to say that there's something sexy about knocked up females too.

D looks nice and roomy in there!  I Like the lights they’re getting it done! Are you running coir in baskets and what’s inside fabric pots below them?  I was thinking of a similar set up with the clay pellets in the fabric pots and flooding that for starting seeds.

Any electrical savvy guys on board?  I have two old Nextgen digital 1000w ballasts that won’t run and fault out when they are plugged in, I believe it’s caused from the way I am running the outlets on the same neutral wire.  Which has me thinking I may have similar issue with trying to run a LED as well.  The “open circuit protection” on Derrayld lights from looking at the site.  Be shitty to buy a fancy new light get all excited plug it in and have it tell you it won’t work.  It’s shitty enough feeling when the 1000’s did it.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to reduce the amount of seeds in hermaphrodite plants? Is picking off all the pollen sacks before they open effective at all?

I have five plants and they’re all hermies. The seeds all came from hermies so it makes sense I guess.

A lot of breeder cuts can herm but they only produce male parts on the bottom. You can fix the problem by taking the male parts off the bottom and hope the whole plant doesn't herm.

if it came from a herm plant its very likely to herm itself not always but id not use herm seeds in the future if you dont want herm plants.
