Hydro cacit?
    #2769042 - 06/06/04 03:32 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

Hey i was thinking abotu my san pedro and wondering if its possibe to go areoponic with them? Root them with a big foam ring then transfer into a 10" netpot into an areo spring style system. The only thing i see that might not work its as the cacti grow, the diameter at the bottom increases. This will push the growrocks out so I might have to slowly to remove the growrock as the cacti grow. Anywone ever seen or eard of anyone attempting or doin this with any cacti?

to make it work it wouldnt be practical. cacti dont need that much moisture and will make them rot. as well as the water woudl need very few nutrients. although a neat idea. also you need to consider cacti are more for ornamental things because they take so long to grow. and you would need to monitor that system for years if it actually coudl work.

yeah it really would be FAR more trouble than it would be worth...and I really doubt it would increase their speed of growth...definately not significantly enough to make it practical.

i was about to say what hooty just said.
it won't make your cacti grow faster.
well fed cacti will also have poor alkaloid levels.
