Here's a shot of pistils, not a great shot, but I will get better pics in a day or two when I take them out to flush. Pistils are two white hairs that turn into reddish hairs close to harvest, they grow from a calyx, several calyx form a cola and they only grow on female and hermaphrodite cannabis. Notice in the pictures of the males that there is a stem attached to each of the little balls, females don't do that.

Good pics man In my experience, under hps I would see for sure preflowers just 30days from seed sprouting up. Under ANY lower heat, less intense light, flour scents, led I find they often take a wk or three longer to show. Certain strains show more skirt than others also

Double chocolate showed super fast, I think four weeks old.
Right now I’m coming up on 6 weeks and still nothing. The last couple nodes started alternating though so should be any day now.
Six weeks seems to be when most beginner guides say to check.

Zoomed in pics of the reversal... probably gonna chop in a few days and hang til bone dry... any thoughts on fast drying males? I know you wanna go low and slow to preserve the terps on female flowers... can I just throw it in with a dehum and get my pollen collected quickly?

Starting to pre-flower.

Did a neem soil drench today to deal with the fungus gnats and it seems to be helping. Can I put down mosquito bits as well or will that be too much for the plants? Hopefully I can keep the pests under control until harvest. Long way to go though.

idk what mosquito bits are but you could try sprinkling diatomaceous earth on the top of the soil. It supposedly cuts up the gnats that crawl through it. And they're attracted to the color yellow so yellow sticky traps under the canopy would help catch adults. Plants are looking great.

Thanks! Mosquito bits can be used as another organic treatment for fungus gnat larvae but I don’t want to overdue it and damage the plants.
I’ll look into diatomaceous earth, thanks. I’ve heard about it being used in grows but didn’t remember in what context.
Ordered some yellow sticky traps last night that will go down as soon as they come in.

Try to fuckup gnats with 💨 wind 🌬 power Add extra fans and the tiny Stanley floor drying fans work great at pushing jets of air thru under canopy growth and you can make it like a hurricane so bugs must hang on , or suck thru fan I love wind 🌬 power

D.e. Doesn’t seem to work that well on my fungus gnats but I do use FUCKTON of d.e. regardless. I like caking small cuttings to clean them of thrips I hate thrips

When I got problems so severe I need to take cuttings and start over, I like to just spray the whole plant with 60-70% methanol, adding some yucca extract to the mixture to lower surface tension so it gets deeper in the creases. I spray them thoroughly, working very fast, then I cut the cuttings and dump them in a bucket of clean water at around 20° to rinse making sure only a few seconds pass. When doing this I like to make the cuttings larger than I normally would, because I expect the methanol to set it back a bit. I'll leave about 5-6 leaves instead of the usual 3 or 4, and I'll try to choose branches at least 4 inches long instead of the normal 3". I've been doing some 2" cuttings as well as of late and have found them to work very well on most strains, generally rooting faster than larger cuttings, but very poorly on some strains, which strains after a repeated try showed more rooting success with a 3" cutting.
I did this because I came across a paper stating rooting time to be extended in larger cuttings.
You can use other alcohols as well but methanol does a lot less damage to plant tissue, as it is even considered a nutrient at low doses. Any and all critters will then be dead, their eggs denatured and soon dried out, and you can then recut the base, cover one or two inches with rooting hormones, take the cutting to some seedling and cutting soil mix, stick it in, water a little bit right away, keeping the cutting in a moist environment the first week.
The only thing this has not worked on for me, was russet mites. That was a genuine nightmare.

I have a 10” Honeywell Turboforce fan oscillating underneath the canopy to help. Think I need more? Once I get the sticky traps in it should blow the adults into the traps which will help. I’m more worried about the larvae and the damage they’re doing.

Is that a joke? This thread is more active than that whole forum. Growery got 6 posts the past 24 hours vs like 25 per day here. How'd you get banned from a dead forum?

I didn’t even know it existed. I started here with shroom cultivation but have taken a break from it recently to focus on cannabis. I trust the advice I get on Shroomery and have no desire to start over on another forum.

growery is cool but so so slow and no one posts much. thats the only reason i dont get on there. i do sometimes to check my stuff and no ones on. on this thread, it dont take more than a few min for someone to reply and get some convo going. the people on growery are probably the same ppl on here so might as well stay here. what the heck did you do to get banned? crazy.
i made my cloner yesterday and moved the clones over to the big cloner. i still have to change the manifold a little because one of the T fittings was threaded instead of smooth so i need to replace it to make the manifold complete. flipped the 2x4. but i removed the 2 apple fritters first because they are still small and im trying to make them bigger so im giving them some extra veg time. the apple fritter clone started showing roots couple days ago. next to show was the purple moby haze. ill post pics later

Alright so this is a really weird question, but has anybody ever done/seen a plant grown like a foot or two tall and then bent over and buried the top? So it would be like a horseshoe shaped stem with both ends rooted?
I think I’m gonna try this. Way back I saw a grow in a big indoor bed and instead of chopping the lower branches the guy would pull them down and bury them and they would just turn into more roots.

$50 huh. I will have to look into this, I've been wanting to add some more lights but I didn't really want anymore HPS or MH and LED's seemed so over priced, but that's reasonable. Are the bloom cycle lights red or just the time it's on changes?

Aka that sounds like a really fun cool experiment. Seems like it would work if the plant could get the hormones right. Maybe you could like skin the top and score it like clone stems to get them to root faster, dip it in clonex and rooting powder and bury it then. Seems like it could work.

The veg/bloom lights are slightly different colors but I run both of them on the whole time. They daisy chain too so I’ve been considering getting another one. They’re usually advertised as “1000w” for some reason . Turns out the one I have is 110w.
There’s quite a few cheap 100w leds, i have another one from viparspectra that’s fanless and has a dimmer knob that was also around $50.

The lcxcn fem seed I popped is looking goofy and super slow, I think I’ll try skinning the top and burying it once it gets big enough.
