mashing mycobags?
    #2744263 - 05/29/04 12:15 PM (19 years, 9 months ago)

my friend inoculated his mycobag a week ago today and just went to check on it for growth and noticed that a patch of mycelium about the size of a half dollar formed on the bottom of the bag. now i think i saw on here a while back that if you mash the mycobags until you cannot see the mycelium patch anymore it will speed colinization up and results will be doubled in a day or two. is this true? does anyone think this would be a good idea?

Let it colonize some more, maybe 25%, then break up and redistribute the mycelium throughout and it will speed things up a bunch.

mash it up when you see myc the size of a quarter, this will spread the tiny amount of myc across the large amount of grain. mash it up again when its about 90-95% colonized, to be sure everything in the inside is fully colonized.
