Hey Solo you ever see Katie Taylor fight?
She's gonna be available via Showtime Youtube stream prior to the televised portion on Sat. night
I never thought I'd ever have any level of interest whatsoever in female boxing, but skills are skills and she's got them
She has an advanced skill set. And her work to the body is vicious.

Thanks I will remember her name. I'm not sorry Carl Frampton's bout got cancelled after he failed to make weight though not because of that but because of a freak accident in the shower (same reason we never saw Judah vs Mosley). Too many bouts like that go forward such as the rematch for Corrales vs Castillo. Somebody should have advised Chico to walk away from it imo. Supposedly Frampton has only 4-5 bouts until retirement and wants only big fights vs those guys I mentioned.
edit- so the theory has been put forth that Frampton deliberately came in one lb overweight because the winner was obligated to face WBC champ Russell Jr and Frampton wants to pursue a domestic rivalry with IBF champ Selby instead. .

Mayweather for reasons unknown has requested 8 oz gloves for his bout with McGregor. Surprising because it was assumed Floyd agreed to the 154 lb limit because the rules insist on 10 oz gloves at that weight and higher, so will it even be approved? It has been suggested a response to sluggish ticket sales which is a bit amusing given all the theatrics.
The smaller gloves will ultimately benefit the boxer dishing out more punishment I believe. It's possible Floyd intends on doing just that with the accumulation of his punches. But to look at it as benefiting Conor, as the bigger man his punches could push Floyd back. In Hopkins vs De la Hoya, some people think Oscar took a dive because the direction the fight was headed. I wouldn't assume that but it is clear that Hopkins is using his size to his advantage. Of course it's just one example but I think that punch would hurt more when executed with the smaller gloves.
Wladimir Klitschko retired. He had the second longest reign in heavyweight history between 2006-2015.

Behind Joe Lewis. Americans refusal to accept Klitschko as a great champion is pathetic. He obliterated everyone in his path for years. Sometimes he wasn't that fun to watch, keeping opponents at bay and religiously sticking to his game plan. But goddamn he won a lot of fights. Great champion.

20 year old David Benavidez in red is 18-0, 17 KOs, has an opportunity to become boxing's youngest champion on Friday night fighting for Badou's Jack's vacated title (who was impressive on Mayweather's undercard, he had vacated it to move up in weight).

WBO super middleweight titlist Gilberto Ramirez with fellow super middleweight Benavidez on the right. Also unbeaten, Ramirez defends his title 9-22 on ESPN. And of course we have the big one in between, as well as Chocolatito's rematch.

Who will trip for Canelo vs Golovkin?

Max Kellerman explained the reason that boxing fans get the jitter high before a big fight is because it can conceivably end in the first round whereas when you settle in for the Super Bowl it is for 3 hours long. I will definitely get that feeling tonight just about before the ring entrances, and I'm looking forward to it also.

I'm thinking if it made sense to score it 10-2 either way (the suspect scorecard that went for Canelo) then it made more sense to score it that way for Golovkin. But I don't think it was that one-sided either (you would have to score every close round for GGG to obtain that score). So I do not hate the draw. Some people are pissed off I would have disliked the decision more had Canelo won.

Manny Pacquiao...amazing that he's not only still relevant in 2019, but that he's firmly in the discussion for fighter of the year.
Dude is 40 years old and just dethroned a 29 year old, unbeaten world champion.
What an incredible, amazing career

Massive clash tomorrow night. I absolutely cannot wait.
The great Vasyl Lomachenko versus the young dynamo Teofimo Lopez, who (Lopez) has had an incredible meteoric rise to be in this position.
ESPN tomorrow night.
This is about as good as it gets...A plus, elite level stuff.
