easy way to remove jar labels? 1

I got a bunch of pickle jars I wanna use but they all have sticker labels on them.
the labels will obviously obstruct the view, but im also worried they will burn in the PC. anyone know if they will burn?
I tried goo-gone to remove the labels. It worked, but I had to use half an entire bottle for 1 label. I wanna remove 20+ labels so Goo-Gone would not be cost effective.
Anyone know an easy and cheap way to remove the labels?

Boil them in some water and get to scraping them off. That glue will be a pain in the ass. Grab some acetone or MEK etc. It'll come right off. π€

A Heat gun removes jar labels in a couple seconds.

A hot OxyClean soak will get the label and glue right off with a simple wipe. If you use OxyClean though you only need like a tablespoon for ~5 gallons and you will have to manually wash them afterwards because it leaves a residue (but the residue comes off with a quick wipe). I do this with recycled beer bottles when I bottle homebrew. I'll have to try the heat gun though because cleaning the residue off the inside of a bottle is a pain in the ass. Pickle jars would be a breeze though

Soak in hot water and household ammonia. Softens the glue up really well.
Edit: I would expect that Oxyclean mentioned above would work well too if that's what you have around. Pretty much any strongly alkaline/basic cleaner should attack the glue with a soaking and get it to the point where you can wipe it off.

Olive oil and a metal scouring pad, then soap and water.

Depending on the stickers I'll use alcohol first. I find it dissolves the sticky and spreads it in a fine coating around the surface sometimes which is where the oil comes into play.
Don't cry Aphex. Alcohol works for stickers and you are not alone.

Rub bacon grease on the labels and let it sit for a couple days, softens up a lot of glue that is used on glass.

Mentioned already, but use oil. Usually works very well. Lard.. why not... Alcohol doesn't work that well.

I would never waste good bacon grease or lard on cleaning.
If youβre going to use some kind of oil use coconut oil

I use 2 methods, 1) Smash the jar and that makes it more manageable but I assume you want the jar so 2) I've just done this on plastic tub, Kitchen towel on label, add boiling water, wait, use a credit card or similar and scrape off whilst still hot.

Dude.
Just soak it in tap water for a day. after a day, you can scrape it all off with a knife. Thats if you havent taken care of it yet. xD
All my jars are mostly recycled. I buy bnew metal lids when they rust too much and/or develop very small holes.
