Disapointing Hunt in AL :(
    #2766842 - 06/05/04 08:14 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

I have a friend who lives in Mobile, Alabama - prime climate for cubes... Well the weather has been really wet 3 days of heavy rain then 2 days of sun, on the second day of sun he went to visit his friends that had a few cow pastures around their house. He searched the entire pasture and didn't find a single cube. He found about ten small round mushrooms with no stem and two white mushrooms with brown gills that did not bruise blue. Is my friend missing something ??

I agree!  We just searched for 2 hours in AL too... nothing.  I think it's just luck in our case... or maybe the mushroom gods are out to get us... who knows

seems like you need to do more hunting, and less time on the comp, thats the way to find more of them!

Man, I wish I had someone around H'ville to go hunting with. I know of one guy, but I don't know him very well. None of the people I know would really want to go hunting, and that's half the fun, even if you don't find much.

yeah the most fun of hunting is the actual hunting itself! i have like no good trustworthy friends up here to hunt with so it sucks that you gotta do it alone (frowns)
i really wish i knew someone on this forum that lived in my area

They are out there, just keep on looking! Central MS. along I-55 (where I'm at) had it's first good flush two weeks ago. I work evenings and stop on the way home (2:00 am) in the same two fields. They are sometimes very large and sometimes not, I try to take only handful or two a night, have the little buggers drying out all around the house. Layed some cinderblocks and bricks last weekend, while trippin....had a debate with one on conformity, order, what is right, and the origions of the masons. Thinking on it now, I think the block was right --- it is all a matter of perspective, there are no truths.

mmmmm.. bama.

The furthest north anyone I know has been able to find cubbies in 'bama is around Cullman. Maybe about a half hour or so north of Cullman. Beware though, a few of my buddies have been chased off a LOT of land around there..
I never managed to find anything around Florence, too far north I believe. But apparently, about an hour, hour and a half south of florence/huntsville..

You're asking someone who hasn't been seen here in over five years to go hunting with you...which is against forum rules.:nono:
