I forgot I had a AA+ mini mono unmodded sitting around.

Printing time. Whew.
Any red flags on my mono? It grows like Medusa a lot of the times.

My first Melmak flush. This is a 15qt sweater-box (no banana for scale sorry). It's pushing up a second flush now. I wasn't here for this harvest and had a friend handle it so didn't get any weights or anything. Nothing epic but I'm happy with it for a first MS tub.

I can keep these in the fridge overnight, right?
I think maybe #teamwheat
Fridge will be fine. Sometimes I don't even fridge it. I just leave it in jars sitting on the counter for a couple of days before they get PC'd. If it's hydrated and your cultures aren't super slow, you shouldn't have to worry about it drying out.
Wheat is my favorite but I haven't tried rye. It hydrates in like 20 minutes on a hard boil and steam dries in 15 if you lay it out fairly thin.
Fully hydrated

Thanks, Doc,
So far the wheat prep has been so much better than any oats tek i failed to run satisfactorily. They look picture perfect. There was room in the fridge, which there usually ain't, so I tossed the 7 bags and the jar in. I'll run the bags in the 75x nd the wheat with CrackedMillet in thenPresto.
Is 4 hours (+30 reheat to temp) an okay run for the bags? Figure I'll do 2h15min for the presto run.
I love oats personally, I mainly run quarts and pop those bad boys in the presto for an 1h40min, and to date I haven’t had a contam or a failure to colonize. However the oats I use are cleaner straight out of the bag than some of the grain that I have used that is intended for human consumption.

First ever try at growing an auto (White Widow), it went 105 days (15 weeks) in a hydroponics DWC set up. Harvest tipped the scales at a hair over 11oz. I’m thinking roughly 2oz dry? Anyone hazard a guess?

Back to the shrooms, some Yeti getting loaded up!

I’ve been getting around 25% of wet weight, so I’ll guess like 2.6oz.
I just started weed recently so I’ve been hyping this thread every chance trying to get it growing.

I was hoping you would chime in! Not too bad then for a first try, no LST or anything because I left it too late I think, just let it do it’s thing.
I’ve bookmarked that link, cheers bud!

A Texas Orange Cap and the tub I’m most excited for with some of Faht’s PE swabbed and cleaned up on agar, ran on oats, and here we are.

I also have a lot of swabs and prints building up. I wasn’t always the best about keeping track of which ones were my “really super clean” ones and which ones were “pretty clean” and then which ones were taken in open air wearing a glove with a swab or something of the like. Soooooo — I would personally use them all and will set aside a few for myself but am going to give them away in little packs over in the marketplace. You may get three dark and awesome prints. You may get one centered. It may be off to the side. In any case, time to get ready for that post in the marketplace soooooon.
Too many other things going on as well. Notably a tub of Tidal Wave that needs to hurry itself along.
Grateful for this community!

I was using producer's pride oats before switching to wheat. I always had a bit of a bacterial problem. I was constantly getting canopies but the stipes were always pretty hollow. I didn't start seeing thick dense mushrooms until I started using wheat.
It's anecdotal but I think that hulls on the oats harbor moisture and maybe endospores were germinating before mycelium was colonizing all of the grain. Maybe, my sterile tech and transfers got better. I don't know but wheat has been working so much better than oats ever did for me.
