Super new at this but pulled a clone from a 5th flush of NSS.
Thought the tub was dead. No dunking or misting. But they are hardy af. Here's some pics of two c1 plates 5 days in. Pasty plates. No pour tek. Sab. Clumsy asf.
Learnt all from this wonderful site.
Ps. Don't use blue food coloring in agar. Mycelium loves it. Have read it before here though.

And yes I didn't hit center on the plates. I wanted to be in and out. But will be doing transfers soon. I'm really glad there is no infections thus far. Know the pictures are not the best. But t1 will hopefully go to sorghum.
Must say it's a very good strain for beginners. And loves to eat green stuff if there's a little bit of it.
May plant straight from the clone plates. Will also do transfers. And post updates.
Stay legends.
So I was away from home for a long while and these poor guys went on a mission.
How I got clean samples from a clone in an SAB is beyond me.
I really have to transfer. But in true Nats form..
They went wild.

Blue food coloring got demolished as well. But fun experiments none the less.

I think the clone I've been growing sucks, the first flush is acceptable (snakes) but the second and subsequent flushes all turn out as small underdeveloped fruits that look like they have a sombrero. The potency ain't bad though heh

Oh well, back to MS.

This pic is giving me some sort of visual ASMR...very satisfying
50qt should be pinning any day now. This is as thick as the overlay will get with this culture, I think.

Spawned a tray with the same culture a few days later. Looking ready for casing and headed into the martha. I had an extra jar so I figured I'd fuck around and find out.

I don't get it, how can this clone behave so differently in the second flush?
compare
1st flush: snakes

2nd flush: chubby fruits whose veil breaks at half of their final heigh

This happened in two different shoeboxes, one of which I dunked to rehydrate between flushes and the other one I left alone (no spraying nor rehydration of any kind). They came from the same batch of spawn (I assume it was clean).

Mine don't change , they stay snakes.
This is the 4th flush from this mono.
I've been harvesting daily because they mature and drop spores at different times.

Trich is trying its luck but the Nats just keep going.

I had the same experience with later flushes getting thicc af. Thought that was interesting. Once outdoors the growth was consistent.

Shy fruiting in the corner there, Mr ape
Okay looks like just mixing grainspawn doesn't work reliably, guess I'll have to learn myself the spore dilution business
Wow

The ape changed colour to look more natal and Less ape? Camouflage?
Also this culture does it all, wrinkly, snakes, blobs
I love it

Bro it looked like a pseudo ape phenotype as clearly seen
Then it turned cap colour
Am I seeing things or is this a cross?

Oh I was just pointing out how much the formation in that photo looks like a Sesame Street Yip-Yip, haha. That color-changing ape is quite interesting though. Hopefully you've got a successful cross.
