The Politicization of COVID

Just a hot button topic I've wanted to vent about and engage others in, without destroying my social ties on social media.
So one thing that's always pissed me off is how people have used the pandemic to say "this political leader is why our country failed to respond to the pandemic" or had caused however many deaths.
While I do agree alot of government and political leaders here in the US did uncountable things to cause failures in pandemic response, I completely disagree that one party somehow would've made a difference over the other if in office.
This is because I can come up with numerous examples of bipartisan failures and corrupt reckless behaviors leading to systemic failures in pandemic response.
I'd be curious if people agree or disagree with this take.
If anything, the pandemic revealed alot more depth to the corruption and incompetency of our government and political leadership as a whole. And deep systemic deficiencies despite historically record breaking wealth as a nation.
We never had the resources in place to contact trace. We have a homeless crisis with thousands of people leaving AWOL from hospitals despite COVID+ and ignoring any quarantining for obvious reasons.
We have absolutely no resources on public health emergencies. We ran out of PPE within the first month of the public health crisis announcement. And since have been relying on China, Vietnam, and Malaysia for our PPE.
You're 3-4 times more likely to be hospitalized and die from COVID if you're obese. And despite being the most obese country in the world by almost double the runner up, our obesity rates increased by another 10-11% of the population the last decade.
It's pathetic. We're one of the most embarrassing modern empires. I mean I guess I could've seen this coming based on how pathetic we were to respond to much smaller scale health emergencies regardless of presidential leadership.

It rips communities apart and completely discredits any critical voices ("stupid conspiracy theorists"). That conspiracy stuff started getting obviously ridiculous (by purpose?) with flat earth. I've been a conspiracy nut (for shit and giggles, not too serious) since I've got my own computer in 1999, straight up into HAARP and whatever was en vouge that time... Some of these "crazy conspiracy therories" still turned out to be true, non-existent Iraqi WMDs for a prominent example, just to get rid of outdated military equipment (personal opinion), e.g. read Eisenhowers 1961 speech, especially about the "Military-Industrial Complex".
Maybe some sort of divide and conquer in my opinion.

It's similar here (Germany), but not that extreme (I haven't been to the US so far, so I have to rely on second hand knowledge here). Besides that McD/big pharma racket and similar, a lot of people eat these funny "get-fat-quick" pills (antipsychotics, antidepressants. Look up weight gain and Zyprexa for an example, on how bad it can get,), to solve issues, that could be brought in check by simply talking to someone, not even a psychologist, something like a good naturopath or social worker just to vent your issues maybe is sometimes already helpful (turn them depressed by having them working stupid amounts of hours, then offer them a "magic pill" that cures everything? Another racket? ) or just simply letting them eat some fungus (depression?)... Obviously full blown mania, florid psychosis and obvious suicidiality has to be stopped in some way before these people harm them selves and/or others. But not feeding people these pills for life. I probably could come up with nearly endless examples of possible racketeering, but I'm stopping to derail that thread now...

I appreciate your rant.
SSRI's and antipsych medications in general are probably the most challenging fields in medical pharmacology. They have a vague idea of the pathologies of some of what their treating, but not entirely, and it's impossible to measure.

I think, antidepressants are useful to get out of a deep hole, while being in therapy, working on their issues. Not a long term treatment.

Obama did some aggressive proactive shit to contain Ebola. Trump would’ve just been like derp derp shit hole country problem.
Ain’t nobody know about a past that ain’t happened but I think covid would have been far less devastating, not just in America but the entire world, if we’d have had that smart brown skinned brother up in charge instead of the rotten tangerine.
