Jack Frost????

so let me start off by saying that I at first had never heard of this strain. It's called jack frost and supposedly a cross between APE and TAT. I acquired these spores from sporeswabs. I first ordered some APE and had some issues with that. Their customer service was incredible. He sent me out a huge goodie pack full of strains so shout out to kyle and sporeswabs for TCB. anyway three DIFFERENT "orgamisms" germinated. none seem to be some bacteria/mold/etc. I'm posting this in advanced because this because I need some big guns help on this one cuz I'm stumped. I'm about to do a transfer but....from where? lol anyone possibly ever have any experience with JF? pleaseeeeee some answers!! lol as always any constructive criticism is welcome. thank u my fellow shroomies -ill

the one by the three looks a lil shady but what in the hell is going on here?

firstly, this is not an advanced mycology question.
secondly, pick where you transfer from with your heart. there is no right or wrong growth besides what you consider "desireable". your #1 goal when doing agar work is getting consistent healthy growth, any other parameters are up to you.

I have no clue if or which is actual mycelium, I dont think a non-advanced myco could help me with that as I stated before it came from a swab. IMHO two of those 'spots' look like they could be mycelium; however, they dont look similar so they both cant be jack frost. I have no clue what to do. I guess I'm just gonna take one transfer from each of the bigger ones and see what comes of that. my main problem is, I have no clue if any of that is even mycelium and if so, which spot? -ill

There's an entire thread dedicated to this... it's not advanced.

I got a few Jack Frost plates look like yours....I was told it's contaminated with some sort of white mold, but now seeing yours, makes me wonder if that is what JF mycelium suppose to look like.

jeez you guys and your giant fucking heads. my bad its not 'advanced' enough for ya. just gimme your advice or shut the fuck up. and for the guy who said it's all mycelium....in all seriousness please explain how 3 completely different looking strains came out of the same swab? --- i guess that's not advanced enough question for all you Einstein's.
P.S. - I ended up letting it grow out on the plate more, I chose the whitest, cleanest, healthy mycelium and took 2 transfers from there sorry no pics, just did it yesterday. I'll post back a picture of the mycelium I chose. I hope I chose the right one ;p I've really been really looking forward to growing out this Jack Frost. JF is a cross between APE and TAT that I obtained originally from a swab, and that was why I wasn't sure what was on that first post pictures. obviously, I'm veryy excited to pull a clean culture. Once the 2 transfers I did grow a lil more ill repost the new pictures.

This topic has been beat to absolute shit by every noob who misuses the word strain, all you have to do is use search.
Different mycelium colonies will have slightly different genetic triggering for growth modes based on nutrients. There is 0 evidence that the way myc looks on agar correlates to fruiting.
This is definitely not an advantanced topic.

I disagree I believe this question is in response to a hybrid mutant strain that the noobs couldn't answer for him?
I think considering he is dealing with actual mutant albino hybrid material the advanced forum is not a bad choice but who am I? I am not new and I am known here under another name but I gotta build my credit under this name so?
Also to an extent the correlations between mycelium growth and fruiting is not known but I have found with certain varieties that I do notice within that variety that mycelium outgrowth can be predictive of fruiting capabilities?

I realize the variety itself doesn't make it advanced topic however this particular mutant can produce strains that are extremely difficult to work with and often display phenotype characteristics that can seem like they can't even possibly be cubensis!
That's why in my humble opinion it could maybe belong here but I have no stake in this posts location so🤷♂️

I know we've lost track of the original post but this is just another cubensis, yes it looks unique but that doesn't make it any more advanced posting the thread here. If anything PE is definitely tougher to grow.

It's FAR from a mutant. Just another cubensis cross that happens to be albino. I'm personally done after today with all the tat stuff. I've scratched that itch. Harvesting 2" fruits isn't much fun.

Insulting people on here giving guidance is so classy. But then again, I am a "fuck head" I went to the school of MCRD, so it will take a lot to insult me 😉
