Dicks ahoy! My frist dicks (that grew on the top, not on the bottom, of the box haha). Would you harvest all these PE now, or just the bigger ones, and wait on the smaller ones?

I was doing LotKid's suggestion of lids on most of the day, but they got dry overnight because I didn't adjust my closet heater timer for the 20 degree rise in outside temp yesterday. Lesson learned
The big one got swabbed yesterday, will get swabbed more and cloned after I pick him.

I’d let those go longer.. they might surprise you how much bigger they get.. almost all my PE open caps really early but continue on to larger fruits.. those all might get as big as the biggest one now

Haha. OK. Glad I saw this. Was about to pull 'em, but will give them a few days. Faht says what to do with dicks, I do that with dicks.
Swabbed the fuck out of that big one. Going to pull him and clone him now. Any advice on cloning without getting a ton of spores in my plate?
That PE is first flush (If you don't count the ones that grew on the bottom of that SB from my heater being stupidly pointed to the shelf underneath, lol)
These are second flush. Maza and BBM. That BBM on the left of second photo is my biggest shroom so far. I really like letting shrooms go poof, haven't had a "black metal - how much more black can it be and the answer is none" super-splort yet, where they all turn all thick black.

Basic Martha built
Start
 5 mins later Standard setup
Humidibucket with 120mm fan, 3 single head foggers as they are easier to find/replace locally than a 3 head. Garden store green house measure 27x40isx5ft6in Passively vented. Considering adding a circulation fan.
Fighting the urge to harvest these
They got a little bruised up from the dry air here being less than 50% humidity but waiting for Mac spore load to harvest and swab.

PE is one of easiest fruits to clone.. odds are that the stipe is solid.. cut the cap off. Tear the fruit in half the long way by pulling the stipe apart starting where you cut the cap off.. there should be some nice meaty flesh in the center near the bottom that’s prime for cloning. PE doesn’t easily drop spore (if at all) so you don’t have to worry much about getting spores in the center stipe tissue
Here’s a pic of an example of where I’m talking about (PE will be even thicker, generally… and don’t do it in carpet—just took the pic for the example)

You can also find great tissue in a premature cap (before it opens) if you pull the fruit apart going towards the cap (leaving the cap on of course) there’s usually a great meaty part just above where the stipe and cap meet

You should just cover the room in plastic lol. It would be way easier to clean. Get some more shelves and cut the legs if you have to.

ATL7 invitro project (Cosmoplex F0).
I've got one or two more print/swab packs of this if anyone wants to try it, I have a post in the marketplace currently.

That may be a winner for highest length-to-cap diameter. At least that I've seen on here.

I sweep and mop when it's more dirty the fruiting room stays rather clean, but the spawning zone is dirtier.

I know this isn't explicitly covered in the TEK's, but I always assumed that the real point of plates, jars, tubs, and SABs was to keep your cultures away from all the cat hair and loose coir on the floor...

I have multiple dumpsites for subs and bags currently. I have grown much mold and i just toss oyster blocks out there to squeeze spores into nature au natural. The big mound is about 10ft wide... I'll snap a pic tomorrow. It's all gonna make wonderful garden boxes. Got a 4'x12'x2' box to build. Lots of spicy peppers in the summer. Better start some mothers...
