Butter, garlic and peperoncino make everything taste better, except kale. Nothing helps kale.

best I've found for curly kale is chop it it pretty fine, take out big chunks of stem, mix it with oil, salt pepper and a bit of sugar. lay it thin on a baking tray and whack it in the oven on medium for 15 - 20 mins. watch out for burning on the edges, mix it up a couple of times.
crispy crunchy lushness! :awedance:

Awesome San Pedro.  This year I put a few peppers in pots for the first time.
It's amazing how much faster they are growing than the same ones in the ground.

I don't want to be that guy who disputes everything.
I just want to say I was watching one of those vegan propaganda movies and they say we are definately built for vegetables.
Our small canines have basically disappeared, and our intestines are very long which makes them much better at digesting vegetables than meat.

20'x20

I was vegan for 2 years, now I try to eat mostly veggies and grains with a small amount of meat.  Love to make fermented salsa, pesto, pickles, marinara and baby food.

That's the most shade it gets and only for an hour or so.  Over 30 genovese basil total, 8 sunflowers, marigolds around one border, peas around one border, 3 beefsteak tomatoes, 8 cucumbers, sweet peppers, a row of beets, 2 Shiso, sweet peppers, 8 Swiss chard, 4 kale, 4 kolarabi, 3 watermelon, hot peppers, cherry tomatoes, sweet peppers, another row of basil in the shade.  So far the peas prefer the shaded area.  This fall I'll be sowing winter wheat.  Next year I'm going to add cow poo, peat moss, lime and shape the mounds into concentric circles.

Back garden is a mix of 6 heirloom tomato and peppers, lots of peas and 3 different varieties of cucumbers.  Also have a few pumpkins.  Hoping that the watermelons and pumpkins are far enough away from each other that they don't cross pollinate.

My honey bees survived zone 4 winter and then high tailed it out of town when our temps went over 100°F.  Last year when it got that hot they would just fly into a tree in the afternoon and come back the next morning.  Got quite a bit of honey after they left, ~24 frames.  Will probably buy another nuc next April.

Was probably What The Health? on NF.

Peppers do grow much faster in pots.

Dang im super jealous namaste…your garden looks awesome!
I’m not a huge veggie eater but I would love an outdoor garden someday soon.

Not tryin to argue about our digestive tract either but the only thing Ill add is that, ive taken lots of shits where theres plenty of undigested plant material, Ive never looked back and said “hey, there’s a piece of pork chop!”

yeah I'd bloody love a hot square in full sunshine, I get so much shade in my garden! nice one Namaste!

now if we're talking undigested, I once had colonic irrigation, and the waste matter went through a clear tube with a light behind it, so the chap administering it could see what was going on. at one point he tapped me and said "hey check this out. that's probably about 10 years old beef" as a grey sludge slowly crawled down the tube
:shockingsurprise:
seems that everyone has different bowels though, and some people love a bit of high meat for their guts. I'm slowly heading veggie/ vegan, seems to suit my mood better
:highfive:

Well true everyone is a little different…i usually only eat dinner so I need some food packed with fat and nutrients…dont think I could do that with a big salad and mixed nuts

Peppers really coming in now, I forget which is which but I planted jalapeño, bells, and banana

and you can see my chard plant…been eating random leaves as they come in, I heard purple plants have anthocyanins, which are supposed to be healthy or something

Funny that you mention anthocyanins.
A few of my crops were specifically chosen for high anthocyanins

"Bulls Blood beets" very, deep red.
"Dazzling blue kale" deep blue coloring.
and red swiss chard.

Fuck yes you guys are killing it! I've been gone for a couple months but my garden is starting to produce! I just harvested my first dozen jalapenos a couple days ago - not much flavor but a surprising amount of heat for a jalapeno  my cayenne plant is laden with fruits. My 7 pot bubble gum, yellow fever and ghost-scorpion are all starting to fruit as well! A lot of my tomato varieties are full of green fruits to so it won't be long until I can start making fresh salsa, hot sauce and bloody mary mix

@Nichrome - that bee swarm is awesome! I drove through a swarm a month ago and probably killed close to 100 bees with my truck :frown: that made bigfoot sad...

My home grown jalapeño is the same. Taste like mild green pepper but with a ton of heat

Yep, I'm back! I had some stuff to deal with but I started missing this place so I had to come back. Plus I'm down to my last 7 ounces of PE so I gotta get the lab rockin' again lol.

I usually use fresh jalapenos in soups/chili, enchiladas or make some sauces/salsa. I prefer pickled over fresh jalapenos though. The only problem is that I don't think my one plant is going to produce enough for me to pickle any this year.

Let me know how the sciencey peppers turn out!
