prob can just cut cap and print. can always swab after if doesnt work.. just try and cut it so gills are vertical if possible

Decided to put a small amount of gills on a couple of agar plates. Will try to see what happens🙏

So, all good things will come to an end, and thus the end begins again.

On my way through collecting what little there is left in these most ideal of micro climate sheltered havens, I find the unmistakable evidence of the novice hunter broaching my turf. What sweet sanctuary will be sacked and put to rape and ruin through the greedy, lazy anbd ignorant behaviours of my fellow hombre.

Still, they missed all this,

Anyone dedicated enough to be hunting subs at this time of year deserves respect and any hauls they can get in my opinion.

I do not know if the4y are greedy or ignorant, but I wouldn't call them lazy.

Ignorant? ignorant of what? common misconception, maybe.

But anyway, I ain't hunting, just collecting.

And I ain't greedy, I am impelled and experienced. I know places where the conditions yield substantially and consistantly for far longer than other more 'ignorant' people expect.

Sitting there going to waste. Dunno what's greedy about that

Hello.

Anyone point me in the direction of spores or spores prints in nz? Hoping to set up my own home grown patch. Have been busy setting up substrate and dark damp place outside. Just need the help getting the magic there!

Just wanted to share a surprise little find. It's spring time, end of October, and 24 degrees C today! A long way past the season, but came accross these growing in some pot plants we just purchased.

I didn't think there would be any chance this late in the year.
These were growing in the pots of the plants we went to the shop to buy. We looked at lots of other pots and nothing. It still amazes me the wierd way these things keep presenting themselves! I'm starting to believe the old saying of "you don't find the shrooms, they find you" :ooo::smile:

Yep. I found half a kilo in October a couple years back. Turns out they will fruit whenever conditions are suitable. And from may till august is the most suitable conditions. So, it's not as common generally. And who goes hunting all year round? not many people. it's just logistically too much effort for such a small amount statisically. But it totally happens WAY more frequently than most experts or seasoned veterans will tell you. And that's mostly so people don't get unrealistic expectations, I think.

They appear when they have a message to tell you.  I hope it's a nice message.

the "pot plant" species, angulospora, tasmaniana, and the one being called orini, can be found year round especially when they are in semi controlled environments like plant stores.
"you don't find them, they find you".............. I tend to find them when i'm looking for them
