Sure, that will work. Use a rubber band to hold the foil on secure.

But you don't have to wash your lids, just steam them for a few minutes in the pressure cooker.

And whats this about 'boiling seeds'? You have to sterilize your jars THEN add the spores, after the jar has cooled.

I mean the rye with seeds, but I've seen this without the use of rubber bands, this because the jars will be emptied in boxes and are not full with substrate, more like 3/4 full.
would this be possible or do you advice to put a lid on it and puncture holes???

Yeah, that's what I thought, but I got a PM from anno who did 2 layers of foil without using elastic band. Also shaking for mycelium spreading isn't the problem, it's the sterilizing, I had the feeling the rye/water would push the foil off, but now I sure I can use it!
