Jon Oliver is on HBO. Shows what you know. (super productive these childish games)
There is a decent bit of good info in there and had the honkers not been morons they could have actually used their situation to better their livelihood. It's a shame they chose to bitch about freedom.

Agreed. TV is unproductive. Mom always called it the idiot box.

Your mom would know. Heyoooo. We like to joke around here. Since you don’t watch tv I’m sure you won’t get that reference.
It’s a shame you’ve got nothing factual to contribute though. It could be an informative discussion.

That segment was the most pro-trucker content I’ve seen in a long time

I don’t. I’m OK with that though.
There’s exactly zero facts that your dim witted ilk won’t bastardize, or alter definition, to suit your flavor of the day delusion.

Did you see that Koods watched the video and that the video points out a lot of negative consequences of the trucking industry? Things that the truckers could have used to legitimize the honkening?

Job Oliver did a nice segment on truckers. It is mind blowing to me that truckers managed to gain that much platform and the best they could come up with is freedom, fuck Joe Biden, and anti-vaccine nonsense. Many of them are losing their asses in that profession and have basically zero recourse in the matter, so they honked their horns and rode around for fun. Makes sense.
It amazes me how many people still believe the likes of Oliver, Stewart, and Colbert are just regular independents talking truth to power! I really loved those guys back in the day when The Daily Show was peaking...
Looking back it was always partisan propaganda but it was effective in its subtlety and selectivity whereas now Colbert has become every bit as ridiculous and blatantly propagandist as his old alter-ego. It's interesting because back in the day it was those guys who made Tucker Carlson look like a corporate shill whereas now the roles have been reversed (not that I trust Tucker).

And what message is that? That this week we all suddenly care about Truckers despite last week smearing and denigrating them as moronic thugs and Nazis!
The likes of Oliver and Colbert care about what they are paid to care about and although they will champion a good left-wing cause occasionally they still operate within strictly controlled limits, with what they are saying/championing as or less important than what they are not saying/championing.
They are in the business of propaganda. That is not a smear but the truth.

Yes if you pull back the curtain behind the scenes of Colbert and John Oliver then you'll find George Soros is lurking in the shadows!
Or it could just be that dunking on dumb shit that the "the right" does draws a good audience and makes money.
I'm not really a fan of John Oliver, but I think the few things I've seen from him were some of the most anti-corporate pieces I've seen on TV. But he said mean things about trump so the magats melt if you even mention his name.

Yes, everyone likes to talk about how this or that source is propaganda. Let's let the little clever ones tell us what source isn't propaganda, and then see how that claim holds up to scrutiny.
Everyone listens to and watches whatever entertains them, and or, whatever supports their biases.

There’s more comedy to be mined from the “dumb shit” left wing than there is the right these days.

Scrutiny as in actual research?
Or do you mean you would take that source and run it through a media “fact checker”?

The last page or so of this thread being prime melt from the video's detractors. The best response received can be boiled down to "independent contractors deserve it" then he turned around and made yet another attack ad hominem on the host.

The guy who just the other month was posting photographs of seized weapons caches and attempting to tie the innocent Canadian truckers to unproven charges of terrorism now wants us to watch videos from a media network (that was smearing them in exactly the same way) about helping Truckers? Who do you think you are kidding?

Oh stop. You are once again deflecting to character. You have absolutely nothing worthy of being read.
This is what I said;
"It is mind blowing to me that truckers managed to gain that much platform and the best they could come up with is freedom, fuck Joe Biden, and anti-vaccine nonsense. Many of them are losing their asses in that profession and have basically zero recourse in the matter, so they honked their horns and rode around for fun. Makes sense."
If you watched the video you know the industry is in dire need of drivers and yet they also have a 100% turn over rate. How in the world does "let's go Brandon" actually improve their lives?
It doesn't, they were being children and you are too.
