ATL7 is basically Tampanensis, do I remember that correctly?
Yes, its just known for producing bigger sclerotia. I believe they are both actually Ps. Mexicana
Quoted from hawks eye/mushrooms.com page "The original first tampanensis mushrooms were thought to be their own species until recent DNA analysis by mushroom taxonomy expert Dr. Guzman determined the tampanensis is actually a variety of ps. mexicana."
Hmm I think the newest info is that Tamps and Mex are separate species.
Tampanensis is in Section Mexicana, I think that may be why you're confused.

Did anyone here ever grow Psilocybe Atlantis? I've searched around and only found a couple trip reports on supposed P. atlantis truffles. Seems to be an interesting species but about as rare in cultivation as it is in nature.

Just my favorite culture line from an invitro Malabar clone that's proven its worth. I'm up around G6 on the grain to grain transfers, and have long since discarded the original plates, so I decided to try to keep it going by dropping grain back onto agar.
I really wasn't looking for anything other than a relatively clean plate to work with, but my transfer away from the grain drop ended up looking pretty cool. I've never invested a ton of time or energy looking for aggressive rhizomorphic growth, but it's interesting to see it in a culture that I already know I like. I wonder if taking growth from different parts of this beast will lead to very much more genetic narrowing....

I could be wrong here but I thought Ps. Atlantis = Ps. Galindoii = Ps. Tampanensis

A few pics from my first real grow not from a kit. The two pinning cakes were birthed about a week ago. The rectangle cake is from PFF3 spores thanks to a giveaway from QM33. The round cake pinning is from my first wack at spore printing from a GT kit I had. The 3 other bigger round cakes are all GTs from same syringe. The small round cake is another PF. They were birthed about 2-3 days ago. Also have 3 more jars of Blue Meanies consolidating. Another day or two I think, and a larger PF jar thats lagging a little. I got a few nice little clusters going though. 4 random little guys from the round cake thats pinning broke veils yesterday, so I just yoinked up and started drying them. Looks like there are like 3 more that will break prolly tomorrowish. The bright cap on the round cake and a couple tiny one beneath it.

Albino Blue Mag still going strong!
This is my C/V 50/50 tub

And my C/V/H-poo 33/33/33 after I collected some nice big 4 fruit clusters for cloning

I harvested the curly fruits with the blue on top from my C/V tub but they were still really hard and I believe I could leave them a bit longer before harvest. This is my first time working with this strain (or any true albino variety) so I'm not sure what to expect. For this reason I only took 3 good clusters from the C/V/H-poo tub for cloning as I plan on a flowhood session this afternoon.
My subjective results on C/V vs C/V/Hpoo: I am running side by side 50L tubs right now of Rusty Whyte, ABM and Tulum in C/V and C/V/H-poo and I have to say that the H-poo is clearly winning on the first flush. Initiation of pinning has been earlier and actual pinset has been much better with C/V/H-poo. Culture was from LC, 4 myco quarts spawn in each tub to 8L substrate, both hydrated to the same point (field capacity squeeze test) and test weight of 1L substrate was almost identical.
My Rusty Whyte C/V/H-poo tub has produced really well on first flush (90g dry so far with another estimated 30-40g dry in the dehydrator now) while the CV tub is not really even pinning; there is one solitary massive fruit growing and a few pins are only now beginning to form around the edges of the tub. It is the exact same case with the Tulum tubs (55g dry vs 27g dry). As for the ABM, the fruits definitely seem more robust and larger in general with C/V/H-poo. Will see what the dry weight shows on first flush. I will be keeping track of pinning initiation, pinset, fruit size and dry weight until all flushes are done
I'm not trying to start the old "Is a poo substrate any better or necessary" argument again. It's clearly not necessary as shown by all the great C/V grows in this thread. I'm just trying to dial in the best tek for my setup and sharing my subjective experience so far,,,

First: I am running Enigma tubs from bags of oats spawned to CV. Should I throw down a compressed top layer of the CV? 2 inches?
Thanks for posting that link to thwe genetics, monsta.
I gotta search all Alan's posts; the guy is amazing.
PIC TAX with story
I'm too SpaceBaby to remember if I am double-posting this, but these are from just now, anyway. This shoebox of APE got seriously contammed and I tossed out onto the back porch couple three weeks ago. there were no fruits in it. I just found these the other day. I'm going to clone the wavy one and see if it's stable enough to get a grow and test.
So far, my Enigma has been my strongest [and most colorful -- which aint sayin much with my dosage threshold] trip in a couple of years. I'm the guy who just lay in the lounger and giggled for 3 or 4 hours on 7.5 g PE.
And 1.87 of the enigma did me pretty nicely--not light years from home, just nice. in 8 fucking minutes. tea. couple weeks ago.
...I'm baked and seriously digress.
But still, how cool is this Ya think the heavily contammed shoe stressed the APE which triggered a mutation? First the tub, then deets of my Boi of Interest:
I just checked the first image. The resolution! Zoom in, guys oag.

Damn, that looks like you've had a slime mold contamination. Looks like old Stemonitis fruiting bodies (I know it almsot definitely isn't, but it was my first thought).

Didn't look like slime mold earlier. It's the one that makes browsn nearly black 'lion's mane-like" fruits
But the APE looks like Early Enigma. Becuase Enigma has evolved to be more ball-of-brain-coral-like.

The gummies that tried to kill me this weekend made from fresh stones.

Room for improvement on the aesthetics, but definitely not weak.
These are a variation of BW86's next gen recipe. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27222123 I used a different flavor jello, Mai Tai instead of Pina Colada, and 275g fresh stones instead of 56g dried fruits.
