Mike Hawck said: Interesting, thanks for the input guys. I have a Pan Cyan Wild Coast print and I guess I should see how I do with those before switching to something else.
Following the discussion above, I fruited precisely Wild coast and it yielded quite well in a super low tek coldish environment (19-20C some in monotubs others in unmod!). It did not drop spores though
So this time I will actually build a jcm, but will set some apart to try and select some good low demanding clones

Yes, using coir is so much easier, if I would be able to find pelleted straw I would use it as well but coir does the trick and doing bucket tek coir leaves me with more room for pasteurizing manure which results in more substrate per pasteurization.
Still working on the substrate though and will be trying straw some day.
Also looking into dissolving manure pellets and pasteurize as liquid and use this to hydrate coir, it's just a matter of finding the right ratio of pellets:water:coir.
That way you would theoretically be able to make a lot of sub at once, not that I need to as I grow just for the fun of it but this could have potential. It stinks up the place though, so I put this side project on hold for now lol.
Have you tried this yet? I curious on how it would work? You can buy organic teas for plant growing. Using it to hydrate coir just seems like it would help... But I'm as green as they get.

I tried it once but that was a couple of years ago. Trying to improve the tub grow first and playing with my first clones for now, once I'm happy with this I will get back into testing out more things.
So you got yourself some spores?

I read this whole thread last night. Plan to try something similar with Pan Cyan. I know this is a Cambo thread but it's inspiring and stuff.

Yes Please give it a go, this works for cyans as well like in this post on page two of this thread.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27261979#27261979
Got my update of this thread almost ready, only waiting for my current run of tubs to finish. Will contain info on an alternative fruiting method, compost based substrate and how I prep my tubs, info on my yields....
Will post the link to the new one here.

Great results there. I’ve wondered about the efficacy of Black Kow for Pans.
