How many books can you really read? 1

is our capacity for knowledge limited? I've always fought the idea that we can really know anything and beyond. I've been aware of my own mortality for a long while... er at least known the life of our ego in our human body is limited. With that in mind I've believed that there is only so much information you can know, because there is only so much time.. Do you think the brain is an excess of absorbency almost like a sponge or an SD card or a fistful of coir? But again there is so much capacity, for info.... but then again something like digital information I remember once reading that the entire data of the internet if somehow extracted, solidified and condensed, it could fit within a baseball... makes the capacity of the mind seem unfathomably limitless... is it? What do you think? Like I think if a person was trying to draw with one hand and rake a zen garden with the other, things would get a little messed up. Odds are elsewhere in life that maybe maybe if we take on too much, too many intellectual obstacles we could floor ourselves into a stasis ... maybe if you were to try to read a little bit a bout every single little thing eventually your vast span of knowledge would become a trivial blanket so thin it's almost negligibly existent at all....... ORRRR maybe you reeeally can just recursively learn a little bit of everything continuously throughout your life and become a super genius and eventually teleport yourself to your own personal planet elsewhere in space hahaha.. again, what do you think?

The trick is to know which books to read
I'm not sure where to conclude from that response! I almost feel it encorces my idea that these things are entropic, but I don't know... I've always felt Sagan had a unique way of drawing tiny blanks in large areas of certainty..

On average, people are supposed to have the attention span of a goldfish and keep eight pieces of information in their short term memory.
Experiments on the subconscious range from photographic memory to the Akashic records.

I love it. We can communicate to people across the planet in less than a second's lag, we can land a man on the moon, so many feats, yet, we still don't really know how to think ahaha. Wonderful

The further you away you get from rote memorization, the more it looks like a spiritual practice, imho...Mnemonic devices can become very colorful, imaginative, and contain new details, that you don't remember putting in there.

Get really revved up to learn.
Maybe, you are studying some recitation on a trampoline.
You are excited to see a data set in an Easter basket or memory castle of delights.
Recall in a calmer state.
You can make this up, on your own. It has lots in common with lucid dream or astral travel.

between my audiobooks and ebooks i probably have around 1000 from the last 10 years or so. I never really re-read them until recently and I found that some of the older ones I cant remember basically anything from. Its like reading it for the first time again. For ones from not that long ago ill remember as I go a bit but still enjoyable.
