One of Texas's best kept secrets is the Tuna charters you can take out of Galveston and Port Aransas.  I'm looking for other big game. I'm interested in catching sail fish. For this I'm pretty sure you need to go to Miami or key West. In Texas it's illegal to target these fish. I'm also interested in Halibut. I know there's charters in Valdez and possibly Anchorage Alaska.  Also, Hells Canyon (snake river) and the Colombia River gorge are supposed to have some of the largest sturgeon.  So anyway, I'm looking for cities, places and chartersfor cathing big game. Ever since hooking several yellowfin a few months ago, I've been addicted

We took a charter out of Homer, AK a couple years back going for Halibut. I caught one that was 115 pounds. Not the biggest by far but still my biggest fish.

So I have a penn squall 30VSW or something like that. It's a 2 speed lever drag I bought for tuna. I'm gonna respool it from 80lb mono to 100lb braid with 80lb mono on top.  I'm hoping this is good for halibut.

I also have a conventional penn squall with 65lb briad im hoping will work for king and sockeye salmon

I want to dedicate time in May and June to go on a halibut charter and catch salmon. I was thinking the Kenai River and Suitna River would be nice. I can take a bus from Anchorage and get dropped off in talkeena. I can packraft down river then the 20 miles along the coast to Anchorage. If I got time,  I wanna go towards the artic and check out some rivers near prudhoe bay and the Brooks range. I just really wanna catch some fish bro, Jeremy Wade style
