Here's a you tube link to a demo on flat folding bags. Save time, reduce RSI.
Do any of you do this? I've been folding the gussets in for 14yrs...never did the tyvek sleeve thing, just seemed wrong.

Nah Gusset folder for life
Also as I said in the other thread don't listen to anything that guy running unicorn's Instagram account says. I've talked to him and he's not qualified to be giving someone like you with 14 years experience advice. He's not a mushroom grower. Hes been fooling around trying to grow a few since he got the job running their Instagram last year. He's a marketing guy
If you try flat fold and you like it better than by all means do it. I tried it and didn't like it. I think they put this video out when they were getting a bunch of complaints from growers about their bags expanding during sterilization.
There was a few months last year when they couldn't get their normal resin because of suppl issues and they changed the mix and put out some shitty bags. Then when we complained about shit quality they told us we were folding the bags wrong to cover their ass.
In case you can't tell by now I'm a little salty with unicorn lately

So, does this method work or will I end up with a giant mess?
I like the simplicity thats for sure.

Just did my second run, no mess, no problems...I'm stoked! How much wasted time folding gussets, especially with the cheaper bags, like satrise? I tried the satrise like this, no problemo.

@stromrider I completely disagree with you!
Unicorn has a lot of good knowledge + he‘s in exchange with so many experienced growers that he knows a lot of stuff. I‘ve switched from gusset to flat folding after seeing this video and I love it! Biggest improvement for me was that the bags are totally flat and can be perfectly sealed with an impulse sealer after autoclaving and it‘s also faster!

As i said, try it yourself and see what works best for you. I'm glad you're having good results
I stand by what I said about the guy running unicorns instageam 100 percent. I spent some time dm'ing him a few months ago. The dude had no clue and admitted as much. Theres no substitute for direct experience

That unicorn Instagram guy is an idiot. I got into an argument with him as he was spewing the glories of plastic bags and how they are better for the environment than reusable glass jars.
Not saying I don't use bags to grow but we need to be honest that they're a bit of a problem.
