Alright so ive got this friend who is really adiment that if you pick shrooms right when theve grown in the day and dont allow them a night then they are posinous. He says something like the spores are closed or something, he got this info from the anarchist cook book, a source i dont credit very much to. So is there any truth to what he is saying? I highly doubt it, but hes a pretty smart guy.

Wise. The anarchist cookbook is good for a laugh, but worthless for accurate information...
Regarding your question... as others have said, not true... however (and this is important!) there are poisonous look-a-like mushrooms... ones that look like magic mushrooms, but are highly toxic... and the best way to tell if you have the wrong kind of mushroom is to make a spore print and look at the color of the spores... so perhaps your friend heard that one should make a spore print (which can take waiting overnight for the spores to drop) before consuming wild mushrooms, and somehow got his facts mixed up. *shrug*
