my head almost blew up the first time I read it, it's such a weird feeling knowing what everything on the graph is now, and I've done about 80% of them. The learning power of internet is amazing.

GGTBod is rarely active here on Shroomery, but mainly on the myco-tek board.

What to do after the jars are colonized [Re: bodhisatta]

So after the oat jars are colonized what do u do before you move them to fruiting chamber?? Do u have to dunk them or just put them in there? Also are you putting them on foil or just directly on the verm? Sorry for the dumb questions this is my first foray into this and don't want to mess shit up. Thanks

you'll want to dunk them then roll them in verm. I like to set them on jar lids but foil works too. wait, oat jars(whole grain?) or pf style cakes?

When do you make the master slant? Do you make it from a clone or from a clean MS agar dish?

I would only make my long term storage slants from a proven, potent, good pinning culture with solid stipes and good mass. One that I had fruited a couple times with consistent results. An MS would likely be a crap shoot.

Hi!
Which growing method is most recommended for beginners? I've been reading a while but cant really make a decission.
Here's some more info about my situation:
I dont have any experience growing. I do have experience using magic mushrooms. I do have a pressure cooker. I want to grow my own mushrooms for fun, the occasional trip, budget reasons (magic truffles are about €15 for 15-25 gram) and I'm curious about micro dosing.
I'm from the Netherlands, so I can easily buy a 'prepared ready to grow' grow kit (for +-€45 for a 2100cc). Spores and syringes are also very easy to get.
So I should just start out with the prepared ready to grow kit or should I start out with something like a PF or agar tek? And please elaborate this a little
Oh yeah, I work monday to friday, 8am untill 4pm (so I cant check on the shrooms during that time, if that matters for some method)
Thank you!

I personally would recommend to start some pftek jars for your first time and while you're waiting on those to grow out start playing with agar. You can get about 30 to 60 fresh grams of mushrooms per cake is what I averaged when I did pftek. One spore syringe can inoculate like 20 jars. When it comes time to fruit your cakes instead of a sgfc that used to be very popular there's newer methods like a humidity chamber or a water tub that would work for you since you won't be around for 10 hours at a time.
Also I highly recommend to stay away from those pre-made kits. They can work out but we see people literally every day come here and ask what's wrong with their kit and how to fix it. There made as cheaply as possible and come with instructions that were used in like 1987 it's kinda crazy.

Thanks!
So any differences between the humidity chamber and water tub regarding to the ammount of harvest? And any other noteable differences I should be aware off? because I'm doubting for which method I should go with
And I'm working from 8am to 4pm. Made a type-o in my previous post. Don't think it'll matter for my questions but have edited it anyway.

To any noob reading this:
Man I've been lurking on here since 2009 growing cubes. I started with the PF tek with a glove box and had a lot of success, but then somewhere along the way you get the itch to grow bulk! So here I am now running 48(ish) monotubs on racks doing sterile work with a flowhood - Grain to grain in bags then open air spawning to coir/verm and it's a daily/weekly/monthly routine - for life! (At least I hope so) I'm dipping my toes in the waters of pans, woodlovers, & edibles this year. (Wish I would have gotten into them sooner!) So keep pushing yourself and never give up! In the end they grow you!
