Ive been offered a 2 year contract to serve in iraq as a welder helper.. They well fly me out pay for my hotels cell phones pre diem all of it.. i work for 60 days then they fly me back home for 30 for 2 years and when its all said and done ill make more than 160,000 tax free...
Im really putting some huge thought into this cuz i really need the money... I know id be putting my life on the line but i dont really care.. what you do if given this chance?

If I had the opportunity I'd do it. 160k for two years trade work is extremely good pay. Then, it's over, you can retire (or at least take a long break), and you got an exciting story of danger to tell the grandkids. It's not that risky, especialy if we get a regime change next January.

160k for 2 years isnt all that special. 80k a year can be done inside the US or in SAFER countries with the right skillsets.
it would take at LEAST 160k a YEAR to get me to iraq.

I don't know, I have never read statistics, just know it's crazy. Who knows though, maybe it would be a damn good adventure. I'm sure there is plenty you could do to help people out too. I wouldn't do it though!

you realize tons of places there dont even have running water? Refrigeration is hardly anywhere, its not safe to be outside at all of your compound without armed guards.. etc.
My work is split base in India and the US. Let me tell you, India is lightyears safer and more 'comfortable' then IRAQ is right now and my coworkers come back with nothing but horror stories.

I say go.. its 80k a year.. thats a hella of alot of money.. plus you will get to travel and you will be home 4 months out the year.. and during those times you will be rolling in the money.

seriously, where do you guys get off thinking 80k a year is a ton of money?
once you get past 22 and have a real job, 80k aint SHIT to risk your life over.
80k is like a nice/good/better then average job here in the states. Let alone to fly across teh world to a hate filled country torn apart with no life luxaries and risks of illness, death, sickness etc.
