When I scraped my nats tub it overlayed again and just pushed pinning back another week Although scraping and casing it with something non nutritious could be a cool experiment

Long time lurker with a new account. Barely ever posted on the old account. New year new me vibes. Love this forum.
Super new at this but pulled a clone from a 5th flush of NSS.
Thought the tub was dead. No dunking or misting. But they are hardy af. Here's some pics of two c1 plates 5 days in. Pasty plates. No pour tek. Sab. Clumsy asf.
Learnt all from this wonderful site.
Ps. Don't use blue food coloring in agar. Mycelium loves it. Have read it before here though.

And yes I didn't hit center on the plates. I wanted to be in and out. But will be doing transfers soon. I'm really glad there is no infections thus far. Know the pictures are not the best. But t1 will hopefully go to sorghum.
Must say it's a very good strain for beginners. And loves to eat green stuff if there's a little bit of it.
May plant straight from the clone plates. Will also do transfers. And post updates.
Stay legends.

Nats straight dgaf about non nutritious, my bottle pics were cased with 1/4 of straight verm. The floof of happiness consumed it. I peeled it and recased with verm. It ate it again.
I thought I was gonna be smart and use a non nutritious casing aka rock it did not care.y next bottles will get a tighter packed 50/50 ph adjusted casing.

Really enjoyed my Nat trip yesterday! 3.5 gram tea was nice an strong. Little different from cubes but I dig it, will definitely keep this culture around. Not as strong as 3.5g of APE but for sure stronger than a typical cube.

A.k.a said: For me the trip was much different than cubes. Specifically visually. Instead of patterns and breathing walls that I get with most shrooms natal makes everything just look different, like some kind of weird filter.
For me everything becomes shaky, but a starry night is ten times better on nats than cubes
Both of you guys are spot on with this. Wasnt sure what you meant by "shaky" when I first read it but after trying Nats you are so right. Couldnt have described it better myself

Two more tubs are starting to pin.
The "star-burst" tub:

The "English Garden" tub:

Man these things are wonderfully bizarre.

Wow those are both awesome looking. Especially the first one I’ve never seen that type of growth before.

Looks amazing, Hindsight! The first one looks like my PESA culture that I've lost, it always tended to do this.

Thanks guys.
I've never grown PESA but it's on my want-list. I've decided I'm doing too much at once to start it up now though lol.

Once I confirm the overlay is worth eating I’ve been thinking about breeding a culture solely for overlay and calling it cloud 9
